• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Insurance Cost

Good point. In Texas, we have a lot of uninsured motorist even though you must show proof of insurance to get your tags. Progressive gave me a quote of over $900 without un/under insured. That was $300 more for a total of $1200 a year. Went with Foremost for $480 a year, full coverage...

    Passenger Comfort ???

When I'm on the back, I'm relaxed and comfortable, but I can see over the top of my wife. When she's on the back, she has a death grip on the handles. I agree with Chris, and my wife has expressed interest (expressed is a relative term!:gaah:) in arm rests. Yes, it takes the passenger's help...

    Dumb Question for Today

But how can you tell it to PAUSE if it says RESUME? If it's already RESUMEd, they RESUMING again would be redundant. So it must be told to PAUSE before it can RESUME. I wonder if BRP would like for me to write their manuals for them?:joke:

    AMAZING SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES:

My wife must have read that first, she has me hold the onions when she chops them. I guess I'm pretty clumsy, they say I'm all thumbs..... now.

    Hot!

Down here near Galveston, it hasn't been too bad. You guys in the north keep sucking the heat up there, I'm ok with that! It's now 88 with 75% humidity for a heat index of 102. Not too bad.

    Houston Area Ryders

Sorry we missed it, but I'm sure it would have been pretty hot by the time we headed home. We did go fishing earlier and only got hot. Well, and 2 redfish, neither of which would have been keepers. Also, I'd like to get the clutch fixed before we go too far from home. Looking forward to...

Updated Info on RT/RS SE5 clutch "fix" campaign

I had gotten a call from the GM of my dealer just to check and see how things were going. Apparently, they are making some changes to improve this branch. So I stopped in to see if the parts were in. Yep, all but the washers that aren't needed. But I figure there is a liability problem if...

Question who has the BEST PLUS warranty?

Well, the BEST Plus doesn't really cover the whole job. I took mine in for the 600 mile and had to pay the difference between what the dealer is reimbursed for the job and their rates. I don't remember what the difference was, I had some other work done at the same time.

What to expect if you have a flat tire?

So, does the Veskimo help when you have a flat tire? Can you just pump the cold water into the tire? Sorry, don't see the connection.

Need Help Instl. ESI HMT Light

Ok, removing the tail light was much easier. There was no way to get to it without removing more than the upper fender trim. Connectors plugged, moving on. Thanks Dave. And a job well done, everything is back together, I didn't have any parts left over and I didn't lose any parts. Well...

Need Help Instl. ESI HMT Light

Wow, the only connector there is about 5" beyond where any fingers can get to and under a bonding strap! Looks like I'll have to take the right side pod off.

Need Help Instl. ESI HMT Light

For those who have installed... Instructions 7) says to locate the 5 pin light connector on the right side of RT. I can't find a plug on the right side, but there is one on the left side with a pigtail coming out of the connector to the left brake light. Is this it? Did BRP change locations...

Need summer glove recommendation - longer fingers

I have the opposite problem. Wide hands, short fingers. I have to buy XL or 2XL and end up with about an inch left over in the tips. Maybe I could cut off my excess and send them to you as finger extenders? :joke: Ok, maybe not. There needs to be a big and tall and a short and squatty shop...

    Insurance Rates

Insurance rates from state to state and county to county are different. When I got my Spyder, I went with Progressive. The day after I bought it, changed to Foremost at half the price for more coverage. I don't think you can buy out of state for insurance unless the agent is licensed in...

    Passenger Armrests

Post #13, Billy said he would not be making RT armrests, but would continue to make the RS armrest. I think our next milestone here is HDMod, when he installs his Diamond R next week. After that, the Corbin entry.

    ??? re: clutch recall

The service guy at my dealer said that there was a special tool that he would have to order along with the parts. These guys don't have many Spyders out that they are taking care of and only 2 RTs that I know of, so they aren't high volume. After a couple of times knowing more than they do...
