• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Madstad Brackets & Shield on a F3

My advice is . . . . . . . . Go with the 18". I am 5'7" and I am looking right at the top of the 20" shield - it is right at eye level. And it is at the lowest setting. With the 18", I would guess she would almost always ride a with the shield at it's lowest setting too. Tom

    Madstad Brackets & Shield on a F3

First off . . . . . . . . . . . . . No, ( I don't think ) that the brackets interfere with the rider's line-of-sight. When you look at them, you see them. When riding, they are effortlessly "overlooked". Actually, space/area wise, I think the Blue Ridge hardware takes up more square inch area...

    Madstad Brackets & Shield on a F3

It sounds nice being that close to the factory I didn't think I would care for the side-skirts, but it is like they are invisible. I was going to test the shield without them, but probably will never get around to it - seems kinda pointless to mess with it. Yes, I thought the crossbar would...

    Just could not stand it!

You are a tough guy . . . . . . . . . . . I cut my demo ride short so I could get back to the dealership and order one. :roflblack: Congratulations! Tom

    Madstad Brackets & Shield on a F3

To start please keep this in mind; I am 5'7", wear glasses, don't like to ride with a helmet, I had a Madstad setup on my 2008 GS, and I always wear in-ear headphones ( the type that seal your ears ). My F3 had a Blue Ridge shield before I replaced it with a Madstad 20". Here is what is most...

    I have a long butt

I have not seen it . . . . . . . . . . BRP does have another seat, but I believe most dealers don't carry it in stock. Seats are hard to buy when you can't test them out. Good luck, Tom

    Madstad dimensions

For me . . . . . . . it was easy. ( mechanically inclined, but Klutzy) Madstad has posted the install manual on their site. Sorry I don't have the specific link, but the site is Madstad.com . Tom

Madstad measurements On the 20" shield: At full-down, the shield top edge is 15" up from the bottom of the BRP logo on the instrument cluster. There is an angle - the edge is about half way between the cluster and the top bolts that hold the handle bars. At full-up, the shield top edge is...

Mike, my post had nothing to do with you . . . . . . . . . or your opinions or extensive experience or plans. I sure that will seem to be incredible to you, but if you look at the time-stamp on my post it is a minute after yours - and I can assure you I had not seen your post. Nothing to do...

Yeah, I prefer posting from experience too . . . . . . . . I got the F3-S Madstad shield and brackets installed yesterday ( Tuesday ). Only had a short time with it today. I will post measurements tomorrow and first impressions. For now I will say; I had a Madstad shield & brackets on my GS -...

Mine came in today . . . . . . . . . I just got it installed, but it has been raining off and on all day ( at least no hail like yesterday! so far . . ). I got the 20". I am 5'7". I doubt that I will ride much with it any higher than the lowest setting. The 18" probably would have been just...
