There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Windscreen issues

I just had the larger of the three windscreens put on my new F3S and while it keeps all the wind off my chest, it now directs it all into my face. At highways speeds my eyes rattle. Any after-market ideas?

Full face helmet.

The aftermarket has not ansered this need yet. F4 is working on it. BRP had one and withdrew it for technical reasons. Madsted has one but its fugly and blocks proper vision forward.

So you've seen a Madstad mounted and looked through it?

Suggestion...

you could add a flip at the top. Twisted throttle has them to bolt on or clip on..

or use a modular helmet...

MRC-X-Creen

Had the same issue. I was disappointed they did not produce the Rt. 66. Settled for the Blue-Ridge. I found the MRC-X-creen. It works well. I bought the clamp on addition. I'm very happy with it but would rather of had a proper windshield. Around $130. Would have waited for after market shied but have some trips to take. Sorry no photos. I'm traveling.

re: Madstad

Mine is being delivered tomorrow. I'll have it on Friday. Will post pics this weekend.

"Fugly" (see above) is in the eye of the beholder (the Blue Ridge brackets are not exactly works of art) and Madstad would not have the large following they have if their product didn't work, and work well, addressing the exact issue that started this thread.

Also, even though the brackets are centered on the shield, with the Madstad you are looking OVER the screen anyway.

Won't say anymore now (because I want to post from experience) but I'll post a review after I have actually put some miles on with it.

BTW, they have a 60-day, no-questions-asked return policy. Sounds like Mark (at Madstad) is pretty confident about his product.

I'm not an engineer by any means.
Most would consider height to be the major influence on keeping wind off you.

I disagree angle of deflection in comparison to where the rider is positioned. :hun:

I totally agree!!! The Madstad only looks proper on an Adventure Touring bike and every one I've seen on any Spyder looks like an afterthought at best.. I don't care how they work.. I'll ride with a full face helmet until someone comes out with a nice windshield.. We shouldn't have too much longer of a wait from what I've been hearing...

I totally suspect of the F4 shield. Have they ever built a bracket? A friend of mine emailed them last year about the F3 and there just looking into it.

What does your first sentence mean????? As for the rest of your comments : You have no idea what you're talking about... Don at F4 customs is doing way more that just looking into it... There will also be other offerings as well.. Your friend emailing them last year means exactly what??? You do know we've went through some months since last year,,, don't you???

Let's see a photo of F4 prototype windshield & new mounting brackets then!!!
I contacted Don at F4 Customs I think in Jan 2015 about designing new brackets & windshield for 2015 F3S Spyders.
I have not heard a word back since then on F3S progress.
I do know what I am talking about!!
I installed a 2012 BRP Vented RT windshield on my 2015 F3S & it works!!!
I contacted Madstad, Mark on Feb 26, 2015 And received an email April 20th his F3S Madstad windshield & new mounts are available for F3S Spyder riders!!
Enjoy your F3 rydes.
Jim

Exactly how was the comment I replied to HELPFUL???? It was his opinion and I couldn't even make out his first sentence... My comments are only negative if you choose to take them that way... Just because you emailed someone at F4 in January means zero because AGAIN some time has elapsed since and they are working on it.. As for the Madstad shield I wouldn't have one for free / You can take that as negativity if you want... I have a BRP vented windscreen too and have access to a full fab shop so it's really not a big deal to make it work..

Yeah, I prefer posting from experience too . . . .

. . . . I got the F3-S Madstad shield and brackets installed yesterday ( Tuesday ). Only had a short time with it today. I will post measurements tomorrow and first impressions.

For now I will say; I had a Madstad shield & brackets on my GS - worked great. The new shield, so far, works better than that and the shield on my ST-S.

More tomorrow.

Tom

I have plenty of experience with ugly windshields.. I put over 350,000 mi on BMW GS's / Five of them... I know something about function over form.. I completely GET that the guys that have the Madstad like them and I'm happy for each and every one of you.. My opinion just happens to be in this instance that there are better choices on the way and I'm gonna wait n see :)
