• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    anyone still riding ??

Temp 35 and up Rode about 80 miles yesterday with the temps from 35-44 degrees. Figured the wind chill was about 16 degrees at 70 mph, but stayed warm with heated gear. Did not see any other bikes out though.

Is this too much for a 2008 Spyder?

Fun was cheaper when I was younger Funny how things are almost always more than we want to pay! Fun and speed are not necessarily inexpensive but you only go around once. I have found that it is more fun to say-- I am glad I did-- instead of -- I wish I had:yes:

Is this too much for a 2008 Spyder?

Acessories make a difference in price, but a good deal is one that makes you happy Accessories are a huge factor in buying or selling a bike, but I have generally found that the seller values the accessories more than the buyer. I have always heard that accessories added are worth 50% or less...

    Some Dzus tips

Good Detail on Length and Challenges for each. I have been thinking about converting over to these fasterners so appreciate your insights. Would hope that future Spyders come out with these in place for all maintenance areas.

    A Gerbing user question.

Gerbing Gloves, Pants, etc I recently got the Gerbing jacket liner, T5 gloves, insoles and Extreme heated pants. Tried the entire combo today with temps from 39-44 degrees on an 80 mile trip. The T5 gloves really did not seem to warm up that much, but my hands did not get cold either. The...

    belt tension

Valid points on Belt Tension Well noted comments on proper belt tension. My belt tension is very close to what it should be using the Krikit II to check. Agreed that the belt tensioner device is only to smooth out the long belt's inherent vibration tendency. I plan to have the belt tension...

    Winter Storage

My Winterizing Ideas I just received my Gerbings heated insoles, gloves, jacket liner and extreme pants. Did not like the idea of placing the Spyder in hibernation, so decided to just winterize myself. It was a warm 59 degree day today, but tried the jacket liner anyway to see if it was...

    belt tension

Switched to Belt Tensioner Added a SmoothSpyder Belt Tensioner recently to my 2008 GS Spyder. I have only ridden about 50 miles since installing the tensioner, but can tell you it has made a big difference. If all is correct on the instructions, keeping the correct belt tension should no longer...

True Cost to Own a Spyder

If I had to justify the cost of Kids or a wife???? I would probably be single if I had to justify the cost of kids or my wife. Of course I did waste a lot of money when not a father or husband, so who knows. Fun seems to cost money, but this is a great way to enjoy the investment!

    H M FLOORBOARDS

Look Great--How about details on how you built them I like the looks of your floorboards. Looks like a Cobra floorboard mounted on your own support. How did you attach to the peg mounts and frame? Will they support your full weight without flexing. More details and photos would be appreciated.

    Hand Brake Poll

Sounds like a good time to start the poll over with the changes included Why not just start the poll over with the suggested changes?

    Hand Brake Poll

Both are handy I added my own hand brake that works in conjunction with the existing integrated braking system. It is really nice to use either or both options. Also makes the transition back and forth from 3 wheels to 2 wheels much easier.

    Help! Engine running bad!

Same problem I had! Turned out to be plug wire problem I had a lot of the same problems you have described with the exception of the elevation change. I tried different additives in the fuel, different and higher fuel grades, checked filters, etc. Bottom line was the spark plug wires were...
