• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

swing arm?

NOT having done it... :opps:
Get the Tupperware out of the way... :gaah:
Remove the rear wheel
Disconnect the rear brake... (Maybe just pulling the caliper would suffice :dontknow:)
Disconnect the rear shock
Getting the swingarm pivot points loose is where I come up REAL short on info... In theory it should be about one very long bolt... But getting to it around the belt pullleys is "dark territory" for me...

There's folks here who can do this in their sleep...and I'm sure they'll be happy to point out whatever erroneous ways I've pointed you... :opps:

The following applies to the '08-'10 RS. The procedures for later models or the RT will differ.

2. Lift the rear of the vehicle
3. Place a jack stand under the frame

5. Remove cable protector from swingarm
6. Unscrew parking brake cable screws from underneath of swingarm
7. Remove screws securing each fender support to swingarm
8. Remove rear fender supports and (place?) rear fender on seat
9. Remove rear wheel
10. Unscrew shock absorber lower bolt
11. Through the right hand driver's footrest hole, remove:
-----The lock nut
-----The positioning nut
-----The washer
-----The spacer
-----The swingarm nut and its washer
12. Remove swingarm bolt with its washer

If you are going to tear into your Spyder to this degree, I suggest you obtain a copy of the appropriate shop manual. This isn't something you can readily learn by merely asking.
