• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is this why you bought it?

Good article in this morning's NY Times.... http://nyti.ms/SiR15z

    zūmo 350LM

I ordered a 660 from Garmin over 6 weeks ago after asking some gps questions here. They must have run out of units right after I ordered because it is supposed to arrive today. The 660 now includes free map updates for the same price so I guess it was worth the wait. I also got a small discount...

    ok, gps questions

Well it would seem there is much ingenuity and many options for adding gps to a Spyder. I'm going with a Garmin 660; still deciding on the type of mount. If you are a member of The American Motorcyclists Assn. you can get a discount on certain Garmin products; about $35 off on the 660 if you buy...

    ok, gps questions

I find it hard to do homework on this...software updates change some of the behavior of how gps units perform. You have to look at reviewer's post date to see if their complaints have been addressed with updates. At one point someone was having problems with Zumo and the ability to add routes...

    ok, gps questions

I have a 2009 rs (I guess technically, a gs). Looking to add a Zumo on my bike. I probably won't hard wire it right away. The mount options are the BRP mount or one that attaches to the round part of the bars. I really don't want to drill holes in the dash. All this stuff is freakin expensive so...

What do i need to ride to Canada?

I'm not saying this happens to everyone but a coworker rode there from LA this summer and had problems with Chase Bank inadvertently shutting off his credit and debit cards when he crossed the border. I guess you are supposed to tell them ahead of time. Very detailed and entertaining writeup...

    Storing my spyder?

Depending on how the barn is constructed I sure would think about rodent issues, especially with all the tupperware on the bike. With all the wiring and such it could be a nightmare next spring if something decides to nest in all that stuff.

Dps, vss issues on 2009 sm5 Spyder

I guess I was just trying to take a bad battery out of future issues if the stock one isn't that great. I'll just ride for now. Thanks Scotty.

Dps, vss issues on 2009 sm5 Spyder

Ok I got the bike back a couple of weeks ago and it runs and steers fine now. There was a "lost communication code", ie a loose connection. They were able to clear codes and replicate the errors. All sensors and modules were reset. The rear tire was a bit low which they said could cause issues...

Dps, vss issues on 2009 sm5 Spyder

Spyder on an Xtreme trickle charger all the time. Took it off right before I went riding. But I did not check connections so that's a good point. The dealer also adjusted my parking brake when the dps got changed out. Don't know if there is any connection there or not. Ya, i know. Changed jobs...

Question for the Comfort Seat owners please --

Agree with Scotty about not being able to shift weight comfortably. But I can ride longer with the comfort seat vs stock. The vinyl is also less "rubbery" and does not show scuff marks. The seat has two rubbery panels that rest inside your thighs to keep you from sliding around on it. Nice...

Dps, vss issues on 2009 sm5 Spyder

Hoping that's all it is. I just want back to fixed and dependable:pray:

Dps, vss issues on 2009 sm5 Spyder

Finally got the dps recall done mid July. From past steering replacement experiences i figured this would be trouble. Trailered bike home from dealer, no time to ride until a couple of weeks ago. 20 miles, no problem. Got the bike out last weekend for a longer ride, 10 miles out, dash scrolls...

    Trailer

I had posted about 6x10 trailers last week and I was going to buy one at tractor supply. I did a little more research and found a local dealer that sells Maxey brand trailers. I can get a 6.5x10 comparible trailer for $1095 and the build quality is better. Maxey makes all kinds of trailers. You...

    6x10 trailer question

Here is the one I am looking at. The one at the store has minor shipping damage (looks like something scraped the side rail on one side) so they are willing to deal...

    6x10 trailer question

Found a 6x10 utility trailer with a 48" ramp at Tractor Supply. It's the usual 2x6 plank floor design that you see everywhere. The ramp is a full 6 feet wide so I know my Spyder will clear it width-wise with no problem. The trailer has 15" tires. The question is: will the Spyder bottom out when...

    Scuff marks on the seat

That rubbery material on the stock seat accentuates any kind of scuffing. I finally gave up and bought the comfort seat. The finish of the vinyl is much more forgiving.

    DPS Recall

So are you saying there is more steering sensitivity at high speed? I had my dps replaced the first time around and never had the lockup or any other problem after that. I took a 400 mile trip through a bunch of twisties last weekend and really had to manhandle turns at high speed. I could...

Passing it on- Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) Update

My steering locked up prior to having the update and I too did not plan on nor did I want the update, but I had no choice once the steering failed. The dealer did the update and it didn't help so they replaced the DPS. It took a long time to get the part. BRP paid the dealer to trailer my...

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

When my steering failed in late October I called Carlo and he authorized a new DPS. After about 7 weeks of backorder I called Carlo again and he immediately expedited the part to the dealer and called them to let them know it was coming. I got my bike back a week later. 3 days later I went to...
