• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

zūmo 350LM

Without even owning the Spyder yet, my biggest fear is running out of gas on a long trip. I was looking at the website for this model and it looks great. I know it said it offers "exit services" as I'm riding but can it also do a "route to nearest gas station" sort of thing if I am parked somewhere? I'm not sure if that makes sense lol

I've got a TomTom for my car that works okay but it seems like the Zumo is really the best thing for a motorcycle. I'm just not familiar with their menus and options.

Yes-- the Zumo units can easily find the nearest gas station, food, etc.... works great.. use it all the time......

It figures, 2 days after buying a 665 a new model comes out.....Now my GPS is as obsolete as my oil filters...:banghead: :roflblack:

I'm not sure that the 350LM is a 'better' model or not...... would have to look at the specs.

I still have my 550 unit and love it.......

he Garmin zumo 350LM is expected to roll out in the third quarter of 2012 and will retail for $699.99. Ouch.:yikes::yikes::yikes:

Been considering a Zumo..currently using a Nuvi but the sunlight readability is pretty poor and not usable in wet weather. How do the Zumos fare in sunlight??

I had the 660, and now the 665....in direct sunlight its a challenge...but your seldom in the same position for that long..

Yah, I dunno about better. The 350 has lifetime maps but no XM and it doesn't play MP3s, pictures or audiobooks off the SD card. The battery life seems superior though to the 660 and 665 though. The no MP3 part bummed me out when I just looked it up.

Why have an SD slot when it won't server as a music/book player?

The sumo 660 is a nice unit, I just wanted music so the xm on the 665 was the ticket for me. Undecided o what to do with the 660 as of this point. Kids car vs selling:dontknow:

I got the GPS holder and it comes with some wires. Is that going to work with the Zumo or am I going to have to put a cigarette lighter? I'd rather be able to hardwire it to the GPS.

Will the A2DP bluetooh profile mute the intercom ?

I am trying to decide between the 665 and 350LM. The concern I have is using it with my Uclear-I have the hbc100 and wil be trading it for the hbc200. I know with my iPhone the GPS wil not interrupt the intercom to give voice directions when I use the Garmin app on my iPhone. Uclear says it is be because the Iphone app uses the A2DP profile for instructions, and it is a lower priority than the intercom. Apparently the A2DP profile is the music profile.

I've had/played with GPS system for years, way back when we had a rather large windows laptop and a serial GPS device as big as a book plugged in.

Played with no-name brands, Tom Tom, iPaque but I consider the Garmin to be the best.

They all have pros and cons, none have ever been perfect. I like the larger screen of the 66x but I like the physical buttons of the 550. The 660 seems under powered and takes a while to draw on screen.

I have entered lots of feature request on the Garmin website, one is to do with points of intrest. If I have a route going and I want to find the nearest gas, food etc, please find the nearest on route not behind me or 5 miles off route. You can set up the gas tank limit and a warning. So I set my GPS gas tank limit to 150 and warn me when I have gone 120. The 660 will flash a warning and show a gas icon when I have only 30 miles left.

So the GPS knows I have 30 miles give or take to play with, so find me a gas station on route within my range, if it can not, then by all means go off route.

Still love my Garmin, would never leave home with out one.

Oh shameless plug, my zumo 550 with XM radio puck is for sale in the classifieds here

Here is a comparison showing ZUMO 350, 660 & 665 you decide :gaah:http://www.gpscity.ca/compare/zumo350lm&zumo660&zumo665 I am happy with my new just purchased Zumo 660 .
I ordered a 660 from Garmin over 6 weeks ago after asking some gps questions here. They must have run out of units right after I ordered because it is supposed to arrive today.
The 660 now includes free map updates for the same price so I guess it was worth the wait. I also got a small discount for being an AMA member. Looking forward to trying out the Garmin!
