• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Beautiful day here and I did absolutely nothing to the Spyder. I did get my Fiber Optic Internet cable run to the house and they came back and installed the Fiber Optic Modem in my house. Also got a WIFI extender module paired to the modem and mounted on the wall inside my work shop. This was not a choke point job. I got fiber optic cable right into the little office where it goes WIFI from there. No hard wiring at all. Probably faster than I will ever need to be, and I got the slowest one available.
 
Just got back from dropping off my Spyder at the dealer.
I had a nice chat with the people in the service department, and they said it should be ready on Tuesday. Tuesday is a bit of a long time for a 12 month service, but they aren't open on Sunday or Monday... so Tuesday it is.

The drive from my home to the dealer offered a couple of surprising moments.

I was driving my Honda Ridgeline pickup truck, towing my Spyder using a Stinger Can-Am trailer.
Once I got on the road and was checking my mirrors, I think my heart skipped a couple of beats when I looked in the rearview mirror to see the full windshield of my Spyder so close it was almost in the truck bed!

That Spyder was following REALLY close! :D

And it's only THEN that you realise it's whatever you put in your own bloody trailer, and of course it's that freakin' close!! It's hooked to the back of your vehicle!! You couldn't just realise that before your heart half jumped outta your throat, could you now!! 😖 :mad:

You're going to like that BajaRon sway bar. I immediately noticed how much my Spyder felt more grounded and controllable. :)

Just had that done myself, I was amazed at how much faster my web pages and downloads became.
 
I remembered that I took some pictures of my Spyder on the Stinger trailer before leaving the house.
When I edited the pictures I realized I took them before I folded up the loading ramp. :(

I'm hoping! I went from a Road Glide to the RT, and it feels really ... squishy?... comparatively.

We got fiber here last year too, it's awesome!
 
Heading out from Yakima and riding to Grand Coulie Dam in about 20 minutes. Cleaned the Spyder up from going over Snoqualmie Pass on Friday this morning too... Looks like a nice day to ride.
 
Brought bike home today from dealer. I had removed a number of accessories from my older F3, and certainly missed the backrest and seat cushion - these will be first to be installed 😏

So I guess the nice chat I had with the service guys paid off, as I received a call this morning that went to voicemail, telling me that my Spyder is ready to be picked up. I was surprised, so I called back to confirm, and it is ready.

I'm still drinking my morning coffee!

So now I have to grab a quick shower, hook up the Stinger trailer, and head to the dealer, which is about 80 miles away.
I should be back home by 4pm.

That's great.
From a business standpoint, it's better to under-promise and over-deliver. It makes for much happier customers. :cool:
 
Cleaned the bike this morning after putting it back together, I also repositioned the INNOVV Third Eye mirror warning displays so they were easier to see. And then I went for a 150km ride so it would be dirty again! LOL.
 
Just got back from picking up my Spyder.

The service writer pointed out that they also did the software update to add Apple Carplay to my bike.
I told him I did that in April of last year, and it's been working great with my iPhone and headset in my helmet.

He got an odd look on his face, looked down at the paperwork, looked up at me, and then down at the paperwork again, and then looked up at me again and said "Well, we downloaded the available software updates." and then handed me the paperwork, which does say they did a software update that includes Apple Carplay.

So I'll give them credit for checking for the update.

Now for another year of riding before I have to go back again...

I finally found time to download the picture I took of the rear view mirror using my iPhone...

The picture was taken after I arrived at the dealer, so you can see their side parking lot, and I think that's a CAN-AM Defender on the right side of the picture below the mirror.
 
De-winterizing the Spyder today, and got most things done, but I can't find any information on how to lubricate the front suspension arms. There aren't any grease zerts for the bushings that I can find.
Also looked and haven't found what to lubricate the parking brake mechanism and pivot point with. For the cable, I alternately sprayed a bit of silicone lube into the cable sleeve & worked the actuator 3 or 4 times.
 
Replaced front brake pads on my 2020 Spyder RT with EBC FA630HH pads from BajaRon - At 36430 miles. Bedding them in took some golfers by surprise as I quickly ran up to 60mph, then braked hard to 20 mph... x 3. :ROFLMAO:
 
Installed Garmin Zumo GPS on my recent acquisition (‘22 F3-L), backrest, hookup for battery tender and heated gear, phone mount and made electrical connection at customer accessory in front of gas tank.

Looks like I need some adapters or parts to install my Ultimate floorboard in place of the F3-L boards.

IIRC, the Zerks for the front 'A' arm bushes were discontinued waaay back in about 2014. 😣

I might be wrong with the year, possibly being out by a year or maybe even two, but for some reason that will probably never be revealed by BRP, Spyders haven't had any way of lubricating any of those bushes for a loooonnng time. :cautious:
