There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

He will be on his 2020 RTL, that is the key reason I am leaning towards the Spyder. As with any planned ride, I don't count the people going until the day of the ride, at the meet up location. We have been riding together since we met in 2008, so he is very dependable, but you never know. Tire should be delivered today and oil change kit is scheduled for Tuesday.

I have had a dependable riding buddy for over 4 years. His daughter posted on a local Spyder FB page that her dad was in Arizona and looking for someone to ride with. I asked her where he was located and he was about two miles from my winter RV Resort. He is a retired LEO and rode on the job. We both have two each 2018 RTL's. There are 5 or 6 others who ride with us off and on; however, we are the anchors of the group. My Honda trike friends have put their 2006 Honda up for sale and bought a 2021 Spyder from another friend (who has back issues). Friend is liking the simplicity of operating the Spyder over a clutch, gear shifting, hand and foot brake on the Honda.

Cool! I met KD while I was gearing up for a ride. He had to slow down for a car to turn into the park across the street from my house. At the time we had just bought Suzuki M109. When he pulled off I knew exactly what type of bike it was. I hopped on my bike and took off in the direction that he went. Found out that he lived 3 miles down the road. We been riding every since. Then in 2013 I was talking about the Can Am Spyder. February 2014 he came over riding a 2014 RT. September 2014 I had an accident on my 2 wheeler and picked up a 2014 RT 2 weeks later. When the 2020 RTL came out, he ordered one. I loved it but still liked my F3T. But 2 years later I came across a 469 mile 2021 RTL for super cheap. That is what we will be rolling cross country on, I think. Lol!

Finished up the install of my self made trailer harness for a Bushtec 6 wire trailer and took her out for a shake down. I will docment what I built in a DIY post a little later.
Temps got above 50 (hit 59 on the way home) and had a great ride. I am now over half way through the break in period.

Rode over to BajaRon's to say hello and pick up some new EBC HH brake pads for front & rear. Got the piston retraction tool for the rear caliper also.

Replaced original battery (2024 RTL) with Lithium Ion battery, then went for about a 45 minute ride. Took advantage of the mild temps.

Went for a ryde yesterday again. Anytime the temp gets above fifty during the winter months it’s time for a ryde.

I put some new EBC front rotors on, and EBC HH Sintered brake pads front and rear.

That's a little cool. Me, I'm not riding because it is 41 degrees C.
Too hot to ryde so I fitted a holder for the GPS and a thingy that has a 12v outlet, 2 USBs and a voltmeter. Also I made a turn signal switch. Now too hot to stay outside so I am taking it easy

I hear you. I've actually lowered my temp threshold down to 40° for a short ride to clear the mind, but if it's 46° or so I'll ride.
Warm gear helps. For me the heated gloves is what made the difference. Once my hands start stinging it ain't fun anymore.

I first ran a couple of errands this morning maybe 35 miles, when I dropped off the supplies at home the wx was great, so I got some heavier gloves and rode up Tn Hwy 421 "The Snake". Tested out the new rotors and pads after bedding them in yesterday.
421 was crazy today, and up on top it was still wet, slippery, and lots of shadows .
Besides the nuts on full on race sportbikes and the 20-25 Porsche car club ( who were the worst) as far as not staying between the Mustard & the Mayonnaise, it was a good ride..

This morning I finished loading the Spyder and will be leaving soon for a ride down to the panhandle of Florida for a couple of nights of camping. A bit cool starting out, but weather overall should be really good for this time of year.

Broke the 10,000 mile mark yesterday on my ride after 18 months. It's been an anvil as far as reliability goes, and it's always a pleasure to ride.
I think I'll take it out and give it a nice drink of 93 octane 100% gas.

Returned a day early from my camping trip due to excessive fog down on the coast. Fog so heavy it was more like rain. Nice ride down and back though, put over 400 miles on the bike. The weather was nice when I set up camp, but quickly went South.

Today after a ride, I noticed my right front LED turn marker/signal was loose in the fender. Pulled the wheel to see what holds it in, and found the mounting screws 2 turns loose or more. Then I checked all of the fender to inner shield screws and all of them were the same. Very loose. Got to be careful tightening them down because they can strip real easy if over torqued. Not that I would actually use a torque wrench. I use a 1/4" ratchet. Got them all good and snug, and then did the other side, and the results were the same. All loose.
Just thought I'd let you know in case you haven't checked these. My F3S has 10, 300 miles on it for reference.

Finally broke the 400 mile point with a ride with the wife onboard. It was her first ride on a Spyder and her first ride on less than four wheels in over two years. She was very happy to be back on a bike again. I was impressed by the air ride system on the RTL. Did not notice it when she got on, but after she got off I felt the rear drop back down. Most Excellent!
