• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    So it's called the Ryker!

Yes, thank you, I was aware of the road legality of quads in select rural areas. I wrote that they're illegal in cities. Perhaps there are some smaller cities in the West that I am unfamiliar with that allow them, but those are very few. In the most populated parts of America, however, it's...

    So it's called the Ryker!

Hello old friends... saw all the hub-bub and figured I'd read up on the latest addition to the Spyder family. I won't revisit what everyone's written about it, but I have yet to see anyone in any thread mention what I imagine may become a critical market for the Ryker: urban stunters. Yeah, a...

    Leaning 3 Wheeler

Why not combine the maneuverability of a two-wheeler, with the corner stability of a trike? This is a fun game, Bob! :roflblack: I have no doubt that the Spyder will continue to have its success. But while I was a happy owner of a Spyder for a very long time, I'm not going to pretend that...

    Leaning 3 Wheeler

Suspension got fixed on the FZ in 2017, they adopted what they put on the XSR900, works just fine now. That said, the suspension for this won't be anything like the FZ/MT/XSR, for the obvious reasons. Personally: this is what BRP should have put out a couple of years ago instead of only...

    Taking the MSF 3-Wheel Course.

Glad you could find the good folks over here, Jim... Dina will love her Spyder, I'm sure of it.

10th Anniversary of the Spyder June 2,3,4th 2017

Thanks, was already planning that much. We did that at the Owner's Event in Maggie Valley a few years back-- I rode, she drove, but we rode at the rally. Just wondering if I can even get my bike on the homecoming grounds to *park* it, or if I'll have to leave it at the hotel the entire time.

10th Anniversary of the Spyder June 2,3,4th 2017

I admit I didn't read through the entire thread (or see it elsewhere), so I'll be lazy and ask: any rules about bring a NON-Spyder to the event? :dontknow: I've only got the RS, but GF will come, but we won't do two-up that great a distance. We *would*, however, ride both the RS and my other...

RS and ST now extinct: Future only F3 and RT

But are you forgetting that there are no new designs from the design table before next summer, Bob? :dontknow: ;) Nope, it's a whole 'nother year to wait around to see if BRP does something other than the F3 and RT... grrrrrr. BTW, as another resident RS champion in these parts: I'm bummed...

This is what you DON'T do at the dragon!!!

When the Owner's Event was in Maggie Valley a few years back, me and the GF did a group ride around the waterfalls the day before we planned to do the Dragon. That was my first Spyder "group ride"-- and my last. Just too many people doing too many things, not paying attention to the road in...

Summer Jacket Thoughts and Other Gear

To the perspective that you don't need as much protection on the Spyder because your risk of a minor-yet-common motorcycle accident like a low-side is non-existent, I'd only remind folks that we can still get thrown off a Spyder in any number of ways that will still leave our bodies slamming...

    Storage Suggestions If No Garage...

FYI, I was the one who enjoyed a Bike Barn that collapsed due to snow. :banghead: I've had a barn since 2011. Same aluminum frame, but I bought a replacement cover in 2015. I found that my first cover got brittle over time in the sunlight (read: easy to poke holes through, but you can patch...

Jacket or No Jacket in Hot Weather - Which is Cooler?

Ron, if you think that it's tough to convince people to wear a mesh jacket instead of just a t-shirt, imagine how tough it is to convince people that a NON-perforated jacket is cooler than a mesh jacket above ~95 degrees. Mesh is great before then, and after then for short periods. The problem...

Spyder as a Primary mode of transportation

The Spyder isn't my only mode of transportation-- I also have a Honda motorcycle. That said, I wouldn't rely on the Spyder alone if I didn't have my GF's SUV parked in the driveway for the shopping trips. It's easy enough for *me* to commute and run light errands on the bikes, but...

Thug Life – Superbike passes Porsche 997 Turbo at 200MPH – Video

While I'm an ATGATT guy, I must say: if you're going to go 200 mph on a public road, it don't matter WHAT you wear at that point. All gear does then is change whether your casket is open or closed.

    Shoei Headwave

I have a Sena in my Shoei (say five times fast). I happily use it for music and talking to passengers/fellow riders (as noted above, being able to talk to your pillion is FAR safer than hand signals and helmet-thumps). Would never use it for a phone, and I'm too broke for a new GPS ;). My...
