• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

received 2013 rt sat. got new tumbler for trailer. does the old one come out with out destroying the it. can you put the battery back in old position under the seat? thanks for any help milton brown

Removal of the key barrel is a 15 step process...and is a little tricky. Best to hitch up the trailer and swing by your dealer to have him do it. nojoke

Joe,

Did they remove the old one or just make the existing one work with your key?

It was my Brother in laws, they changed out the tumbler so that everything is keyed alike.

(they used the tumbler that came with the bike specifically for the BRP trailer)

Its an old thread, don't think it still applies. I just had the same question for my trailer. I guess I should have just opened a new thread.
This is more involved than it seems.
suggest you pull the trailer down to Conyers and have Darren, the tech at Mountain Motorsport do it.
if you screw it up you have to drill out the lock and replace the tumbler and that is big bucks.
so many folks have messed this up, he's good at doing this now.

Think I will do that on Sat morning first thing and wait for it. I don't have the key for the old one, so hopefully thats not an issue.

If you don't have the key for the old one, it will have to be drilled out.

Never would i disagree with you on technical items, i don't know how they got the old lock out because my Brother in law did not have the original key either. :dontknow:

I didn't get a key for mine when I bought it used either. It is possible to get it out without drilling, but takes patience. Once you get to the backside of the tumbler there are some tabs on the bottom side (IIRC). You can hold them up with a pick or something similar to allow the lock to come out through the front.

Mike:

I suggest you call Mtn Motorsport (770-761-4800) and ask Darren if he can take the old one out without a key.

Would anyone have the TSB or instructions on replacing the trailer lock? I have a matched lock that came with my RTS but never installed it on the trailer I bought.
