• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

oil over filled?

While on the final leg of a very long trip.(2100+miles) I had oil spewing out of the opening...spraying all over the trailer. I'm assuming I over-filled the oil, but why did this not occur before the last 80 miles (perhaps divine intervention).

When I noticed this, I stopped checked the level and it did show too much oil....I drove the rest of the way home...question have I done damage to the vehicle and can I drive it to the dealer 75 miles? :opps:

What do you mean by; ''Opening''?:dontknow:

Remove the dip stick and see if there's still a rubber "0" ring on it. If not you lost it and it must be replaced.

OK, The dipstick:thumbup: Was it lose, or is the ''O'' ring missing from the dipstick?
If? that was the case, I don't see a problem with riding to the dealer. But if it was lose and the ''O'' ring is missing just get an ''O'' ring and tighten the dipstick..
Normally over filling will cause blow-by, And that oil will leak out of the bottom right side of the air box' not from the dipstick......

say that is what happened....is there any damage done to the byke....and can I ryde to the dealers?

If there's oil all over your trailer there's a high probability it's all over your drive belt and belt sprockets too. This is something you should address. A mixture of simple green (heavy on the green) in a spray bottle should clean things up - but - you will need to spray let stand, rinse. Then move the spyder forward or backward to get to the area of the sprockets and belt that were in contact. You may also want to look under the spyder and see if it is coated in oil. If so, it's going to be a dirt magnet.......simple green will work there too.

DO NOT use other household soaps or cleaners. Simple green type products will do no harm.

thinking out loud here. just a heads up.
