backfiring.

i changed out the exhaust gaskets, changed the plugs and put in a new air filter.

got into some stop and go traffic comming back from daytona and it started backfiring again.

as soon as i got into some clean air the backfire stopped.

anybody else had this problem.? and how did you fix it?

65k on an 08 and it only started about 6k ago.

the only mod is i replaced the muffler with a magnaflow glasspack

If your sure your not leaking any exhaust (and I would check this even though you just put new gaskets in) then you are probably running lean with your freeflow exhaust.

Could also be a vacuum line off (maybe when you changed spark plugs) or even a lose spark plug. Or the packing is blown out of your muffler.

But most likely the lean condition. A Juice Box or other fuel modifier should fix your problem.

Most, if not all modern vehicles run right at the edge of lean right from the factory, including our beloved Spyder. It doesn't take much to put them over the edge. A freeflowing muffler can do this.

it is really strange cause it has plenty of power and doesnt backkfire til i get into stop and go traffic.

I'm learning to the exhaust as # 1 cause;;,
BUT you say you changed the plugs, And knowing how easy it is to damage the spark wires i would take good hard look at them also.
