HEY BRP, Help Me to be Respectful - Quick Rant
Ok, so the SpYder is our first motorized bike ever & we're on our second RT-S now. I've never had the pleasure of ryding a Wing, tho I've read many positive comments and camparissons on here. And my take for the most part is, Give the Spyder 30yrs in the field & she'll be even more pollished than the Wing. Heck, with direct feedback from sites like this, give 'em 10 yrs & I think just about everyone that's inclined to a 3 wheeler will be singing the praises of the SpYder.
So, with that said, I have a really small gripe about the audio system. BRP, we shouldn't have to push the down audio button 18 TIMES to go from MAX to MUTE.
STOP! YES, I know that if you hold down the down button for a couple of seconds, it will mute the volume.
But that's not my point. Really, on a bike, you want things as Simple, Easy & User Friendly as Possible, right?
IMHO- ALL WE NEED IS 4 button pushes-
MAX-MID-LOW-MUTE.
To some, this may not be an issue, but for me, its an issue on almost every ryde.
Case in point.
I really like Kid Rocks "ALL SUMMER LONG" album. I also always wear ear plugs while ryding. Therefor, I usually ryde (especially highways) with the volume at MAX. I know many others complain about the audio sound quality, and I may be easy to please, cause I think mine ROCKS just fine. Even on group rydes, other ryders have commented about being able to clearly hear our tunes & how it made them wish they had a system on their SpYders (usually RS ryders) cause it really DOES ADD to the entire Spyder experience with the wide open roads, blue skies, wind in your hair & just like in the movies, its always better with a sound track. Ok, back to the example. Some of the lyrics on his album are a bit Explicit, Like "I don't want to be your friend, I just want to **** you like I'm never going to see you again" kinda catchy, huh -LOL Well, imagine coming off the Interstate and into a residential area with parents out playing with their kids & said lyrics come on. I know I can mute it, but it would just be much easier to just hit the down button twice to go from Max to Low, that way Teddy & I can still hear it, but not the surrounding neighborhood and kids.
Another example, we were going thru "Over the Rhine" which is actually more dangerous than downtown LA according to one of those sites that list such statistics. Pull to a stop with a large African-American gang on the corner & the lyrics came on, just at that time, "I think racist jokes are funny" ummmmmmmm WOW!!! Yeah, I hit the MUTE button really quickly on that one. Luckily, even gangs dig Teddy or I might not be here today

ray: If I had an easier option to get at a low volume, instead of having to hit the down button 10-12 times, such embarrasments could easily be overcome.
Again, just sharing how I think something on the SpYder that I use on a Daily Basis could be better. And this would be a simple Software or Firmware Update, nothing major or financial hardship to BRP. And again, this is just my opinion. God forbid, if I were to break out my old Sam Kinison or Andrew Dice Clay CDs & put them on the MP3 player -LMAO:yikes:
