This is the mod I did following several threads posted by others.
It allows you to see if your turn signals are still on in bright light due to how hard it is to see on the dash.
It cost around $10 (got mine for $9.99 a pair at Pep Boys in the Mirrors Section not the LED section) and takes about 30 minutes. No real skills needed.
No drilling needed.
This was done on a 2011 RT Limited. Can't say if the mirrors are similar on other models.
Basic Steps
1. Remove mirrors following steps in manual.
2. Remove colored trim piece by carefully lifting 3 tabs using a small flat blade screwdriver.
3. Remove black trim piece following same procedure used in step 2.
4. Remove turn signal light by removing 3 screws.
5. Locate large oval hole in back of mirror.
6. Push mirror to furthest inside position so that the narrow mirror edge moves away from plastic edge. This provides room to fish a wire or my case a large zip tie from oval hole out to side of mirror edge.
7. Pull LED wires through hole.
8. Splice into existing turn signal wires. My wires were Red (+) & White (-) from LED and Black (-) and white stripe (+) on turn signals.
9. Clean glass with Rubbing Alcohol and adhere LED light on edge of mirror.
10. Re-assemble trim pieces starting with Black piece then colored piece.
11. Remount mirror.
