• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Is this spark plug ok to use?

Well after 25,000 miles I believe it is time to tackle changing the spark plugs. Already took out the old ones and hubby said they were not bad at all considering. She has been running great but I know she's way past due a change. Anyway my local bike shop only had DCPR8E which he said was a hotter plug than the OEM's. Will this be ok or should I just order something else?

Your Spyder has been running good for 25,000 miles on DCPR9Es. I would not change to a hotter plug on an RS, especially in the hotter climate where you live. JMHO

Go to auto zone or advanced auto... They typically don't have them in stock, though they sometimes do.

They can order in a set (might as well get two sets) overnight from their warehouse.

I spoke to Carlo some time about this when the topic of iridium plugs came up (as it has over and over again)...truth be told, they make no difference on a Spyder...

Go ahead and get whatever you want...however, the bike runs fine with the BRP recommendation...

Why would a heat sink compund be needed? Wouldn't the threads from the plug and head mate up well-enough to not require it? What happens if you leave it out of the equation?
(Never used it before so I am just trying to learn what I can! :D)

It helps in dissipating heat, Also makes removal of the plugs easier.
Lately when you buy plugs from Auto Zone they ask do you want the compound with that; Sought of like ,
Do you want fries with that Burger?

The major difference is a life of 50,000 or more miles without having to change them. That alone would make it a good buy.
