or maybe I do like loud pipes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a little something I constructed from a canam parts, a glasspack tip, some stainless sink/drain/bathroom parts and stainless hardware. It sounds like:lecturef_smilie::shocked::yikes: to some and:yes::clap::thumbup:to others. While I'm riding that machine and exercising that little coffee can, I feel like:2thumbs::ohyea::D:firstplace: and sit back after the ride is over in :p mode. It sounds very unique and hasn't had a back fire problem, the spool down between gears...I love it. When I visit 8~10k, it converts to this gas welder hiss. I took it up SRC and people were waiting to see what was coming up the mountain.
:2thumbs: Way too cool! Nice job...How's the bottom of your feet?

Our 2 Most precious senses are Sight and Hearing. Which would you rather lose?:dontknow:A very difficult question you must agree?:dontknow:
As far as the Spyder I would rather use my eyes to ALWAYS know whats lurking ahead of me OR behind my back than a LOUD pipe that irritates the heck out of people and contributes GREATLY to losing One of my Two most precious senses?:hun:

I'll try for video, the mini-cam survived my little 2 wheeled accident...but the piezomicrophone didn't. Maybe radio shack has them, 2 little solder points on the chip. It cost me about $40.00~$50.00 to make. I did alot of experimening with different hardwareand even some exhaust packing to create baffle...it's all mechanical, not packing ended up being used. I'll do a little more detailed show and tell when I reassemble the mini-cam.

Loud pipes lose rights

As of JAN 13 2013 All Motorcycles built after that date and ridden in California will have to have an EPA Approval stamp on all exhaust pipes.
As gos California the other 49 are sure to follow.
Still a few years away though.;)

"Less Sound More Ground"

Over the years, now to many to count, I don't know how many of my favourite off road riding areas have been closed because of noise.

Even my favourite Dirt Track has been cancelled because of the approaching neighbours.

You might be able to get away with this years ago but it's only a matter of time before the populous come down on the loud bike issue. In my opinion if the bike hits 95db it should be removed from the road.

If I am not mistaken there is a law right now in New York State headed that way. (and I just read CA)

Well I am on the subject, a full face helmet keep me from some serious re-constructive surgery a few years ago, never leave home without one. Armour rules.

I taught motorcycle riding for years and we always told our students, "It's not if your are going to fall" (or crash) "Its when".

I would rather be heard and be around here for my family, friends and kids then be DEAD because the old man in a hat or the little old lady that cant see over the steering wheel could see me or HEAR ME!!!:gaah: For the few seconds that you hear my exhaust or my OBNOXIOUS STEREO on my bike, DEAL with it:chill:. I know my wife and kids don't mind!

By the way, this exhaust has been on my wifes SE5 for over a year now and sounds great! http://www.esicycleproducts.com/exhaust.html
This is why Calif (among others)just passed a law that all M/C must have a EPA marking and tested in a couple years for exhaust systems. This is going to knock out anybody except the very Big boys from making any exhaust. Or worse, only stock systems that cost a lot more.

Too many people with loud pipes have Zero consideration for others along their route (home owners). The riders with the loud pipes will be the first to be expecting someone else to pay for their hearing aids. Its not just bikes either, its hayseeds driving their diesel trucks with loud exhausts and the truckers with the jake brakes that are running through straight through exhausts.

What about Ambulances and Firetrucks they are a hundred times worse but a necessity. Their are degrees of loud, some intolerable but necessary and some loud but tolerable, everyone should use some tolerance unless extreme.

any chance for that video yet? When i first saw your creation i was jaw-dropped but i didn't know wheter i like it or hate it but ever since i just keep looking at your pictures and admire a uniquenes of that can, i love it. Very well done. I wanted a Tailgunner Jet but they are out of stock last 4 months at least, maybe even longer and my Hindle is heading to it's end. Tailgunner Rotary is cool and unique looking piece too but i like the Jet sporty design. Still have couple of months to make my mind. Your video would be helpfull. :2thumbs:

:agree: with Dave, Kewlmetal is the loudest
I got one for sale from my prev. RS. Have the RT-S now.
PM me if interested

Just my personal opinion here... I am tired of the loud pipes in general. I am also tired of the "Stories" told from those using the loud pipe for "Safety" lines as well. I beleived them for face value for years. Then technology caught up with us.

Not to mention following a loud pipe is not a highlight of any road trips we take... We back off, usually to the point of allowing others around us so we can go back to enjoying the ryde... Everyone has a right to what they want to do, not saying otherwise. Simply saying the loud pipes are not high on our like list.

Yes of course there are a few instances that the loud pipes help. And hundreds of thousands of others where it does not. This has been proven now scientifically and in real life.

Not to mention the fad for about ten years now on rice burner cars is to put a Folgers coffee can on as an exhaust (I know not really, just saying ;)).

I love Harley's but hate the "Excessive" loud pipes. The louder the pipes the less I care for that particular ryder.

That all said... I was 100% that guy. I wanted a certain "Sound" to my loud pipes over the years. Then after having kids a couple decades ago, and having my priorities completely changed. I realized the immaturity of my ways and changed the "Loudness" need.

That is why on the RT-S we put the Two Brothers Titanium pipe on. It has two inserts available to change the "Loudness" and a little of the tone. And to be quite honest, I love the sound. To most that hear it, the TB pipe is one of the nicest "Rumbling" sounding pipes, yet not to loud. nojoke

Not yet, my mini-cam is dead. I fired off the capacitor while opened up and man that 330V wasn't kidding. I think all thats left is the SD card. Once I take care of some Christmas gifts, I'll grab a new one. I have been hiking to the top of our local mountains and need one bad. The "can" is visiting Bisbee again this Saturday, if I'm not too busy. You know, installing the batteries that were not included and finishing off some of that assembly that's required. I'll get it on here, the techs at Ride Now love it, love to hear it coming!

IWN2YRD, I respect your views and all others who feel that way. I to have had kids and got older (not grown up I guess). Just signal and I will let you by or anyone else buy so you do not have to hear my exhaust, not real loud but probably more than you like. I do not buy in to the safety thing either so much but the sound increases my personal enjoyment while on my machine and others who have louder exhaust feel the same way when it comes right down to it. I do feel bad when I am around people who are offended by the sound and will distance myself if I can. The plain truth with all do respect is I enjoy the sound of my bike slightly more than I feel bad.

PLEASE if you ever see me at a ride and I am to loud I will respect that and do everything I can to group up with others who are louder so just let me know. I will do everything I can to work with others.

Great post here and very enlightening. I honestly never knew so many people hated loud exhaust. Will still keep mine but will be more mindfull.

Hi Guys,
i am looking for noisy loudy pipe which will sound deep, throaty, blasty kinda like Harley sound. Have some one came across pipe like that? I checked many videos but they all sound more-less same on my comp.:shemademe_smilie:
The best sounding Spyder I have heard so far was an RS with the dual pipe Two brothers Racing exhaust.... It was awesome, and an RT with a TBR is not even close since it has the Cat and that quiets it down and changes the tone...
