• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Clock doesn't keep time

The warranty on my wife's 2008 Spyder is nearly over, so I was trying to think of anything that should be taken care of. The clock has always been terrible at keeping time. It gets off by about 5-10 minutes each month. Is this a common problem to Spyders or should I try to get it fixed under warranty?

Thanks,
Bruce

Same here, mines an 08 too. Been that way since new.
But I'm Retired so i don't care if the clock is off ,when i get there i get there.:roflblack:

The clock on my 08 SM5 is always wrong as well...BUT...at least it GAINS time, so I'm never late because of it!

They all seem to do it. Reset it once in a while, and all will be right. It is not a big deal.

:agree: It is clock drift and once in a while I reset mine also ( RS 2010 SM5 ), not a big deal and I suspect this type of clock drift is not specific to Can-Am BRP Spyders, but to many other powersports machines. No worries. ;)

Mine does not drift that much.
Cheers,
Dean

Have not heard of any slow clock Spyders. All seem to be fast. I reset when it gets more than 10 minutes fast. Must be the US/CAN time exchange rate.

My brother's $125000. bimmer does that too,Brp is not alone there.I wouldn't bother with it. Reset....done.

have never set mine since new so i don't know if it works or not. I would have to guess no because the time is not right.:dontknow:

Well you have to push the button so many times to get there it aint worth it anyway!! :roflblack: I just keep some kind of golf watch or something handy so I can check time quickly IF I need to, which when I'm on the bike riding is exactly... NEVER!! :ohyea:

I never have to worry about it as I always have to re-set it after it comes out of the shop for whatever the warranty issue of the month is. :gaah::joke:

Be careful Tom, you wouldn't want to jinx yourself now.

The clock also resets when you unplug the console. :D

Believe me, I know!
Crossing my finger and toes, throwing salt over my shoulder,
 that my :spyder: behaves, and hopefully when I get to Tenn. there *might* be a competent tech to check out the "check transmission" issues I'm having (more often than not) with my paddle shifter.:doorag:

Sorry to hijack this thread..
...anyone know what time it is?:joke:
