There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mad Ramps for hauling Spyder

I ran across this ramp set-up (maybe part of Blue Ox) and wonder if you could back up a Spyder into a truck bed?

If you set them up so the slope of the ramps isn't too steep, and make sure that nothing's going to hit underneath the bike like the brake assemble, it may work! Go slow and have a friend around to help the first time.

Hauling a Spyder backwards isn't a very good idea, MHO!
Seen pictures but do NOT recommend. Maybe if absolutely no other way & removed windshield. Maybe but there are soo many other options available. What ever decide & attempt please also do not cover as the cover flutter in wind will scuff paint/plastic anywhere where it touches.

If the Spyder is in the back of the truck, what difference does it make if it's backwards or not?

We assume you're talking about an open box pick-up, "NEVER ASSUME!"
IF you have an enclosed box truck, carry your trike any way you desire!

Regardless which way you load it, it's gonna take some very long ramps to get a Spyder into a pickup without it hanging up underneath.

I brought mine home on my open aluminum trailer, which has a beavertail only about a foot high at the back.
My ramps are 7 feet long, and it will still drag unless the front of the trailer is jacked up a few inches above level.
The height of a pickup bed, plus the fact that it slopes downward from the back to front, is going to make it very difficult to load.

I bought my pickup new in 2003, and I've hauled many things over those years. I've learned how the wind flowing over the cab affects whatever is in the bed and in my truck, 2003 Silverado 2500HD diesel crew cab full sized bed, the cab does a fairly good job of blocking the wind to the bed.

In my opinion, in MY truck, a backwards facing Spyder would be just fine. Not that I personally would haul this way, I have a trailer for that, but it would be ok.

YMMV

Thanks for the input. The motivation is to take the spyder when I tow (4 down) the pick up behind my motorhome. I have a UTR12 Aluma that works great for hauling the spyder.

You may get away with it, but I, myself don't like the thought of towing backwards, even behind your RV. You have what I like calling dirty air, coming off of your RV, like coming up behind a tractor trailer with your bike or have one pass you going the other way down a road and it feels like you have hit a wall that almost takes you off your bike. That would definitely do something to your windshield and or side panels that are not held on well. Yes, the bike has been designed to take air from the front, how much backwards, you need a smarter man than me to put the stamp on that question!! Good Luck!!
