• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Performed my first oil change (post initial dealer service) yesterday, right at 9300 miles. Online videos and instructions were very helpful. I used Shell Rotella T6 and the oil change kit from Lamonster. I also installed the Route 29 shield I received from a member (thanks 3Tyme) after spray wrapping the inside of it with black Rust-Oleum Spray Vinyl and Plastidip. It turned out just as I had hoped!

Today I took a ride, and I did about 100 miles round trip. Stopped at an A & W restaurant on Route 7 in Vermont. (Yes, that is the only one they have in Vermont).

Nice day for a ride, at least before it got too hot. Rode up to a state park and around a bit on some 2 lanes. It was mid 70's at the time, now 88.8F and climbing. Did about 75 miles.

Went out for a longer ride yesterday, did a 275-mile loop from Frederick, Md. around the west side of Raystown lake, Pa. through Huntington, did a dip down through the dirt on Black Log Road in the Valley heading east through Carlisle, Pa, and backdown through Gettysburg, Pa. on the way back to Frederick.

.

Aligned the drive belt on a Battle Born Spyder buddies ryde. Poorly done tire replacement by a local dealer as sprocket was also not spinning true. Also repaired a sloppy job on the aftermarket muffler which was loose and floppy.

Two questions?

How did they know their belt was not aligned after the tire replacement?

What was involved with the alignment?

Today I "installed" the Airhawk seat pad I recently purchased. Tomorrow I plan at least 200 miles to see how it feels and adjust if necessary.

(A day later...). Went about 100 miles south looking for an old covered bridge, and as happens, my GPS steered me wrong. Ended up on a hard packed, Georgia red clay dirt road. Fortunately it was dry. Never did find the covered bridge, which I have visited before on my 2 wheeler. Probably should have turned around when I saw the pavement ends sign, but kept going and drove about 4 miles on dirt. By the time I got to a paved road I decided to just head back home. Still, a nice 200 mile ride.

Today I put a down payment on a 2024 F3 S... Not quite thinking of it as "MY Spyder" yet but I suppose I should be now. Having a few add ons added before I actually pick it up (2up rear spring, front light, heated grips) so have to wait for a couple parts to come in but I think I shall have it by next weekend...

Installed:
K&N Air Filter
Lamonster Bright Rider
LED Low Brow Aux Light
Lamonster Front Fender Power Harness
Slayer Front Sequential LED Reflectors (4pc)

Rode 110 miles on the twisty's!
The Snake and also the Head of the Snake, which starts at Shady Valley TN, to Damascus VA, to Mountain City TN, back to Shady Valley, Bristol TN, and home to Piney Flats.
1st time I've ridden the Head of the Snake, and all I can say is that I've been missing out. It's the perfect ride.

I ran an extension off of the suspension bladder fitting, drilled a hole in the plastic and mounted it so I didn't have to keep removing my 1 piece seat all the time to add air.

Replaced the tires a couple of weeks ago, and what difference they've made!

Front tires - Vredestein Quatrac, 165/60 R15
Rear tire - General Altimax, 215/60 R15

Today, actually on Sunday the 1st of Sept. ;) I did my first oil change ever on a Spyder. My Spyder. It was... rewarding? I saved the cost of having the dealer do it. The change was at 600 miles exactly on the odometer. The oil will be sent out for analysis.
