• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

After having a number of issues with my driving lights/wiring/relay i ripped it all out. I had thought I had killed my Baja Designs S2 Pro Combo lights and in a last ditch effort connected them to an alternate power source - they were fine - phew - that was $600 i wasn't going to have to throw away and another $600 to replace them.

Changed to a different type of fuse block - it was more compact but not water proof. Taped up all the external contacts and clear cover and sprayed with LeakSeal. I also changed the mounting of the relay and gave it a spray after masking the contacts to make it hopefully waterproof.

Today I learned !!!!
  • If my earth is in any way imperfect, its going to create problems
  • Working with LeakSeal is messy, but worth the effort (see below)
  • My expensive Crimping tool is only good for crimping one type - the other sets of "jaws" are useless.
  • When testing expensive LED's make sure the power source is healthy.

The whole setup got a test a few weeks ago in atrocious conditions and lights/trailer/crashcams all stayed alive during some very heavy downpours - water got in and upset the dash on my '17 RTL a few times though. As others have seen my 622 Trailer leaked so - some you win some you lose.

Next project is a 12v outlet in the trailer for the 12v mini fridge for summer rides.
 
Just got my 7 x 12 tandem axle USA Cargo trailer and starting to install stuff. Made at the same plant as Rock Solid Cargo.
Same construction, different name...

Between the Spyder riding season and the snowmobile season here in VT, I don't get much down time. Yes, the sled is fun to operate, the best way to describe the sled it's like a Spyder but on skis. I have the heated seat, handgrips/throttle, adjustable suspension (which I can adjust on the fly).

Woke the :spyder2: from its winter slumber. Placed a small heater on low for about 45 minutes to warm the oil. It started right up. Took a 45 min. ryde. Felt real good.
 
Yesterday I installed the newly redesigned blinker button and paddle extender, with compliments to the forum user I purchased them from. I didn't get a chance to ride yesterday but I can already tell I'm going to like these newly added motifications.

Changed my oil, checked the fluids, tire pressure, aired up the air bag to my happy number, coolant check, cleaned the battery terminals, oiled all latches and locks, and cables, check brake pads. Now a good wash and shine and wait for the weather to break!
 
Not today, but Friday, I, with the help of my beautiful bride, installed Lamonster's 2" handlebar riser. Then, of course, took it for about 15 mile shakedown. Definately changes your riding posture, I think for the better. Positive so far (for that short ride). After this round of cold breaks, I'll have to put more miles on and make sure my initial thoughts hold.

I installed the Lamonster riser on mine also. For me it works great.
