Here's what I did today.
A) I got cold in my garage. It's 35 °F outside and raining.
B) Worked on my Spyder.
I've been having problems with the GPS. One of the spring loaded electrical connectors has been dodgy since last summer. On a ride a week ago, the thing finally gave out, so I replaced it. I had to replace the entire cable.
I installed the SpyderPops vision kit on my RT as soon as it was available in 2020, One of the connectors was intermittently disconnecting. I removed it and hard wired the connection.
I had added a garage door opener in 2020 using a windshield switch to operate the opener. I used the OEM blank position for this switch.
This really upset my CDO. (That's OCD with the letters in the correct order). So I took the opportunity to relocate the switches in a more logical position with the two heat controllers next to each other in the center.
Just for completeness, I've shown a photo of the wiring to the new(er) switch.
Damaged GPS Mount
Repaired GPS Mount
Vision Kit connector that was failing intermittently:
Connector removed and hard wired:
Installed Garage Door Switch prior to my CDO:
Control Panel AFTER CDO has been satisfied:
Just for completeness, this is how I wired the garage door switch:
So that's what I did today.
