There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Heated...

Sounds like I might be putting this on my 2016 RTS. First ryde out I noticed that the glove box got very warm along with my butt & crotch. Hope this helps. Would putting on the cat bypass on help too?? Thanks.

My own self prefers the adjustable vents to direct air "all over my body". The add on vents take away this

advantage. (2014 RTL)

One mis conception here is the original vent was never meant to have air blow in but to have excess heat rise up through the vent with the wings directing airflow past and not into the engine compartment thus helping hot air to escape. (2013) I was a test dummy for all the experimental things that was developed for the heat problem on the 2013 and volunteered as a few others did for the factory to try to work this problem out. One of the dumbest things they did was to drill 50 3/8 inch holes under the seat toward the back of the seat only to allow more hot air to rise.

As some here are not aware, the 2013 was supposed to have the 1330 engine. The frame and suspension in the 2013 was new and developed for the 1330 engine but at crunch time the engine was not ready and they put the old 990 engine in the new frame with some after thought welded engine mounts. This placed the 990 much higher and coupled with the left cross over exhaust pipe that came within 1 1/2 inches of the gas tank caused excess heat to the rider/riders and the boiling gas in the tank. This created extreme gas vapors resulting in a high risk of fire and explosion.

I am happy with my 2014 as is here in Tucson where the heat on occasion hits 120*. My solution for this and all my other bikes is not to ride or ride at daybreak and back to the garage or Hanger by 9-10 o'clock.

It is my understanding that the new scoops on the 2013 RT's are working well. Some interior baffling is removed when mounting the scoops so the air goes directly into the engine and fuel tank area.

Approved!

Thanks to all that provided information on this. Called dealer yesterday and gave them information about TST112333 and Part # 219800388. Asked for goodwill install on my wife's 2012 RT-S. By the end of the day they had approval and will install Friday! :ohyea:

I painted mine myself. It took some time, what with removing Tupperware in order to get the scoops off, then paint, reinstall the scoops, then the Tupperware. But I am pleased with the result.

Someone's gone & done it again!!

There's now a string of 6 posts above this (at time of posting) that no-one can see UNLESS they click both Thanks & Like!

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who just won't bother to do that, so if you actually want your posts to be read, you might want to go back & edit them in the advanced edits to un-check those boxes in Additional Options under Miscellaneous!!

It seems that once someone does it, either on purpose or inadvertently, then every post thereafter defaults to include those options until someone turns it off again!! With any luck, this post will have turned it off for all the following posts, but all the posts above this & after SteveLaoysters post will remain hidden to most until their original poster edits them.....

You can either like me or hate me, I really don't care much which you choose. But to have to "like" a post in order to read it? Come on, If you have something to say, then say it. By that very definition of "like", I don't "like" you. If you don't have the courage to post openly, then stay off of this forum. I'm sure that there are other forums that you can be "liked" on. JMHO.

Your comment is mystifying. Your post above is one of them that requires a thanks to read it! :banghead:

Hi Doc, I was hoping to get pdf instructions on the RT venting information. I sent a friend request as I haven't been able to PM you with my email and a request for your write up on the RT vent information. My email is [email protected] Thanks Dave

Hi all, new member here. Just bought a 2012 RT-S. Went to the local dealer and checked on the vent kit and it is available, price as listed above - $67 and change. Would appreciate if someone could email me a copy of the instructions. TIA. [email protected]
