• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will have to purchase a new rear tire for the upcoming season. Has anyone tried the general altimax RT43 radial tire 215/60R15. Would it do any harm to install this car tire to the spyder?
By the way I ride the 2014 RT Ltd. thanks.

I discovered that tire years ago and have been recommending it here ever since ….. But in all honesty it's not the best spyder tire anymore …. the Vredestein Quatrac 5 , now holds the title. Michelin has re-designed the great " Defender " tire ….. It's now the Defender " T&H " model...…. that's #2. on my list ….. PS If you are putting an Auto tire on the rear of your Spyder ( any brand ) I & Peter Aawen highly recommend using 17-18 psi in it for Best performance ie. traction wet & dry , comfort , and mileage …… good luck …….. Many folks here have the General Altimax tire on their :spyder2:'s and are pleased with them.

I have the Altimax on my ST.
Its a great tire.
Its also is a diameter that corrects the Speedometer to match my GPS.

15,000 miles on my Altimax and it still looks and rides great. 90% of my riding is two up and 22 PSI seems to be the sweet spot for me.

I installed the RT43 on my '15 F3-S after I could not find the Michelin Hydroedge anymore. Only have 5,000 miles on it but am really liking it!

Thanks for all the info guys and gals. I feel confident now to go head and install the general tire. Great site for us non mechanical people. Thanks again, ride safe.

I am also running the general Altimax RT 43 tire on the rear of the spyder. I have at least 16,000 miles on the General. I have 22,000 miles on the spyder.

I'll purchase on other general Altimax tire next month.

I have a 2014RTS-SE6 Spyder.

I run that tire. Have a little over 15K on it and by the looks of things, I should get another 10-15K miles..... Jim

You should PM " Deanna777 " She is planning to change Hers at 16,000 mile s.....I doubt it needs changing …… jmho …. Mike :ohyea:

Good roll and as others have said the 60 profile gives a little more circumference and puts the speedo within 1 MPH of the GPS at 60 mph. I got 23,500 miles out of the last Kumho Ecsta on my RT, but the General Altimax on the wifes F3T only had 18,500 when I took this picture last July... General18.5.jpg

We ran it for another month and took it off with just under 21,000 miles. We Have a couple more Generals on now with less than 10,000 miles.

We have been satisfied with the wear and ride from both the Kumhos and Generals on the rear..
