• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Orange screen

I have a 2014 RTS SE6. Two days ago I had an orange screen at startup that lasted about 5 miles. Yesterday it lasted about 25 miles. The morning about 50 miles. I'm in New Mexico and not close to a dealer. I had some rain with the key in is the only thing outside the normal. Should I head for the closest dealer?

"Orange screen"...
Did it actually say that something was wrong, or could it have been just the "Low ambient Light" coloration?

You can...sort of!
Find the sensor.
(At about the 10:00 O'clock position in the analog speedometer gauge)
Put a piece of tape over it, and Voila!

ORANGE SCREEN

would like the orange screen on all day. easier to see. guess you cant do that .
I did what Bob said and had the Orange screen on for a daytime test ...........It sucked , couldn't see it much ...... went back to regular screen ......................Mike

Interesting. ...

What were the lighting conditions..?? if the spyder did not have any running issues like min speed or RPM's and or codes and warnings you should be fine. Keep an eye on things. But just for pease of mind check for codes....

Inexperience

It is my night screen. I guess I've seen to many references to the "dreaded orange screen" and over reacted. I got a 6am start yesterday and a 5am this morning. The early start is paying off so far, 75 degrees

It's an understandable thing... :D
On the earlier bikes; the low-light screen color was blue.
I don't know why they changed to orange, as this confusion is actually relatively common.

Glad to see you got this one figured out quickly. Orange screens that contain warning messages = BAD. Orange screens due to low ambient light = NORMAL.

The first time I started ours in the evening and saw the orange border, I went into panic mode till I checked it out a little closer!

I wish we had an opportunity to select this.
I dislike the orange coloration. Windows is doing it, and so is Android.
Orange is much too striking for me

What does a Purple Screen with Yellow Stripes mean???.....

If the stripes are 'greenish yellow' & sorta lengthy splashes, then it's probably just all that's left after a Purple a People Eater ate too many Purple People & threw up on the dash!! :yikes:

I'm told it's awful hard to keep more than just one of those Purple People down, & if you don't clean up the resulting mess immediately, the puke will stain just about anything something horrid, & it leaves those distinctive 'greenish yellow' splashes!!

But if they are canary yellow stripes, then sorry, I got nothin'!! :dontknow:
