This horror story has a happy ending
Last week I ordered the Flag Holders from Rivco. I wanted to have them in time for a couple of American Legion Riders events that I was attending for Memorial Day weekend, so I shelled out the extra bucks for three day delivery. Friday came along, and the UPS truck just sped past my house without stopping to deliver the package that I was expecting. I called UPS, and was told that they were not in possesion of this shipment, and that I should take it up with the merchant. Unfortunately, Rivco was closed for the three day weekend, so there was nothing I could do but steam. Needless to say, I was furious, and fired off a scathing email to Rivco.
To make matters even more aggravating, later that evening I got a phone call from UPS telling me that they had found the package in their "unclaimed" department where it ended up because the merchant (Rivco) had muddled my address and they didn't know where to deliver it. Once I had provided them with my correct address, the rep told me it "should be" delivered Tuesday.
I paid for three day shipping, only to get it in seven days? Now I'm really off the rails!
This morning I received an email, and then a phone call from a very nice man at Rivco who said he would do whatever it took to resolve the problem. Obviously he couldn't turn back the clock and get me the item by last Friday, but he would do what he could. After telling him about my two converstations with UPS. He said he would take it up with them. After talking for awhile it became crystal clear that UPS had screwed up and was lying to me to make it appear that the merchant was the one at fault. They had the package all along, and there was no muddled address. Someone at UPS messed up, and they were trying to lay off my anger to Rivco.
Rivco customer service saved the day. I did get the flag holder today (photo below) , and my shipping cost has been refunded to me as promised. I can't do anything about not getting it in time for Memorial Day, but that's water under the bridge and I'm not going cry about it. What's important is that this company went the extra mile to save a customer. I will now be happy to buy from them again.
We see a lot of complaints about companies not providing customer service. I just wanted to put this out there that Rivco has superb customer service and quality products.
