Your Weather News @ June Edition 2026

Finally Friday morning and it is warm/hot here in Indiana. Currently a little cloudy at 75°F. I believe that this humidity is here to stay (90%).

Today's high at 86°F with sunshine.
Low of 67°F. Rain showers are coming this afternoon. I guess it's a good thing. 👍

Have yourself a Blessed Day and Ryde.
Be Safe and Stay Healthy. Till Next Time my Friend.

Tomorrow is another day!

Setting new rainfall rate amount records on my Davis weather station.

Since the start of the month, we've had 6.42" of rain. That's not the record but on Wednesday, at 2:41p it was raining just about as hard as it can rain and my station reported a rate of 10.87" per hour, a new record! Yesterday at around the same time we had an 8.97" rain rate.

My lightning detector reported 1244 strikes within a 10-mile radius yesterday. The dogs weren't happy, not at all. They're not afraid of thunder, they bark at it.

Welcome to the WEEKEND from Indiana.
Today is suppose to be about the same as yesterday. Currently partly cloudy sky at 59°F. No Ryde time today, because of some good friends coming for the weekend.

High today at 83°F and the humidity is down a little (78%).
Low of 67°F. No rain scheduled for us.
Have a Great Day 👍

Sunday is looking good for me.
High of 73°F with clouds in the morning. Humidity is still (78%).
Low at 52°F and a chance of afternoon rain showers.

Enjoy your Day with friends and family.
It's good for a happy life 😊

It was partly cloudy yesterday here in the desert. There were a very few showers around the valley but none made it to my area. We had a high of 105 and an overnight low of 85 degrees. Today it's mostly clear and sunny. There are a few cumulus clouds in the distance that usually precede monsoon action here. We will get to 107+ today and it won't cool much overnight (86 degrees). I really don't expect any valley monsoons today. Those clouds around us are just a tease. Hopefully they'll get serious soon. There were a few feathers drifting through my carport early this morning when I went for my tricycle ride. Remnants of a Coyotes' or Owls' breakfast nearby. This time of year our local doves are nesting and are slow, easy prey for hungry desert dwellers. Stay safe..... Jim

Greetings from Indiana. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to get out there and Ryde. I had friends who were out of State visiting with me.
So No Spyder Ryde Time.

Currently 60°F and a few clouds. Going to be a sunny day 😎. I feel a 'Special' Spyder Ryde Time today.

High today at 77°F with sunshine and a chance of afternoon rain showers.(38%)
Low of 55°F with some sun.
Enjoy your Day and Stay Healthy.

Everything is going good here for me.

The Arizona desert has officially started the monsoon season. The greater Phoenix area is surrounded by thunderstorms. There is a 30% chance of rainstorms entering the valley this evening. Currently it's 105 degrees, humidity at 21%, 7 MPH breeze, and mostly sunny. I can see lots of thunder clouds to the north and east from the comfort of my recliner. Last night after sundown, there was a pretty good light show from the clouds flashing and winking at each other. I do enjoy watching the show. The cloud formations this afternoon are much bigger and closer than they were yesterday. So, hopefully, they'll find their way here. Stay safe..... Jim

Tuesday morning and it is a little chilly at 59°F. That's 10°F below normal for June here in Indiana. Don't get me wrong, I will enjoy the Day. Rain in our forecast today, coming this afternoon.

Currently cloudy sky at 59°F with 89% humidity. Spyder Ryde Time today for sure. You can join in the fun. What ever you decide, be Safe.

Today's high at 77°F with some sunshine. Makes you feel good.
Low of 55°F with some rain showers.
Everything is going well for me.
Life is what you make it. so enjoy.

Happy Wednesday from Indiana. Yesterday was a beautiful day for a morning Spyder Ryde Time. Gotta Love this Season. Four Days till summer and Father's Day.

Currently a little cloudy at 55°F. Rain showers are coming this afternoon. We could use a little bit more rain.
Helps to keep the air fresh and gives us that humidity everyon loves. Just kidding about the humidity 🙃.

High for today is 78°F with showers.
Low at 65°F with clouds.
Try and enjoy the Time and Stay Healthy. God loves you so much!!

Yesterday the high was 110° and the overnight low was 90°! Today it will cool off to 106° and 86°. Humidity at 21%, <5MPH breeze, and a few stratus clouds, but bright and sunny. Some of the outer edges of the valley have experienced some monsoon action, but that hasn't been widespread and there was nothing where I live. I'm starting to get my act together to travel North next week and hopefully be out of the desert for about 3 months. It's just too hot, even in the early mornings, to get a good workout in on my big-boy tricycle. Stay safe..... Jim

Yesterday was a weather adventure here in the neighborhood, to say the least.

A crap ton (technical term) of rain and wind. The wind was strange in that it changed directions many times and as a result, the trees in our area suffered greatly because of the torsion.

Our neighbor to the north, who has several trees near our property line had a MAJOR limb of one of his maple trees twisted off of the tree. I mean major too, 16" diameter! We have a wooden privacy fence along the property line there, and the limb came thisclose to taking out the fence. I was actually outside with the dogs when it happened. I didn't see it, but I sure heard it!

It was a strange ripping sound as the limb was torn from the tree, but it sounded like metal to me for some reason and I thought that it was my other neighbor's new metal garage being torn apart.

It seems that a squirrel's nest was thrown from the tree, along with at least one squirrel. The critter wasn't injured and landed in our yard. He hauled ass to another tree and that's when the dogs spotted it and hauled ass in pursuit. They all ran around to the north side of our house and when I followed them, that's when I saw that the limb was down.

We had a bit of damage to our HUGE Trumpet vine bush/tree in the back yard. It was also twisted and about half of this beautiful vine was destroyed. My wife was very upset by this and is still ranting and raving over it.

Mother Nature, right?

Finally Friday and the weather has been somewhat crazy here in Indiana. We had some high winds that caused some tree damage. No damage to the house.

Currently clear sky and 58°F. Suppose to be a sunny day. The wind should be only 3 to 4 mph. I might get a chance for a Spyder Ryde Time today. I have someone coming to clean up the tree mess this morning.

Today's high will be only 78°F and sunny.
Low at 60°F. Good sleeping temperature. AC will not be running,
so I will save a few bucks.

Have a Great Day today.(y)

Welcome to Father's Day Weekend of 2026. So I am sending all Father's a "Blessed" Day. Have a Safe Time. Enjoy the Good Life. I know I will!

Saturday morning and we are scheduled for some morning rain.
So I will try and behave till the afternoon. Then a Spyder Ryde Time is on the horizon. The wife said she would be coming too! Must be an early surprise or something 🤔

Currently cloudy sky at 64°F in my local area weather forecast. Humidity is 83%. My yard looks good for now. Life is sooooo Good.

High today at 79°F with some sunshine mixed with clouds.
Low of 56°F and cloudy sky.
That's a good day for ryding.

Sunday's high is 77°F with some afternoon showers (45%). Just have to make a few little changes. No big deal!
Low of 63°F. I hope you will enjoy this
Father's Day Weekend.

That all for now. Stay Healthy and keep looking Up.

The desert has cooled down (a little) today. Today's high will be 103 and the overnight low will be a comfortable 73 degrees. Humidity at 10% and there is an 8 MPH breeze. There are no monsoon or thunderstorms in the area. This cooler weather won't last long. By mid-week, we'll be back to 110+ highs and 90 degree lows. No rain in the forecast but, this time of year, monsoons are unpredictable and can pop up. Bought a new laptop yesterday. The old one was old and not compatible with Windows 11. I managed to load all my stuff all by myself. Amazingly, everything works in the way I have been accustomed to for years. Stay safe..... Jim

Temperature is 86°F with humidity at 42% @ 7pm. The wind is 3mph.
Just got back from a beautiful Spyder Ryde. Have yourself a great Father's Day on Sunday. (y)

It was 90°F down here in the valley today according to the weather app. My outside thermometer said 5°F hotter than that.

We rode up to Brighton Ski Resort, via the Big Cottonwood Canyon.

It was around 75°F up there at about 9,000 feet.

Gorgeous weather. Lovely ride. Didn't want to come back down it was so nice.

Next week, probably The Alpine Loop with a side run out to Cascade Springs.

It's take to the mountains season. Looks too hot in the valley next week.

No, riding for me today due to rain.

Here in Vt, we have had a hit or miss week with showers and a few thunderstorms. Although some locations got moderate to heavy downpours, there were no problems with flooding. The low pressure near Newfoundland will keep a few showers around tonight, with lows in the 50's. For Father's Day and also the first day of Summer, it will continue to be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Like today, isolated flooding can't be ruled out, but widespread flooding isn't expected. Highs will be in the upper 60's and low 70's.

For the most part, the weather pattern will continue remain active into next week. They are watching a storm system to the South on Monday. Computer models have nudged that further North again, but as of now, it looks like roughly the Northern half of the region will be mostly cloudy and dry, while a soaking rain is likely in the Southern half of VT. Tuesday will be mainly dry, though an isolated shower can't be ruled out near the Canadian border. It will start to get warmer with highs well into the 70's and lows in the 50's. Wednesday will be a quiet day, before it turns more active later in the week. Highs will be in the 70's with a few low 80's.

More active weather is in store for Thursday and Friday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible both days. While the threat of severe weather is low for the time being, heavy downpours are possible, so they need to watch for the potential of flooding. Saturday looks a little quieter, with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers forecast, with highs in the low 70's.

Currently it is raining and cloudy. The temp is in the 60's.

****** Also, last week on Thursday there was an EF-1 Tornado in the Southern part of Vermont. They have crews working to clean up the mess.
A lot of people lost their power on Thursday due to the bad weather! *****

Not the Corvettes!!!!

EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WTVO) — A powerful tornado that tore through central Illinois has destroyed a nationally known Corvette museum and automotive complex, wiping out decades of history in a matter of minutes.

The storm struck Effingham County on the evening of June 17, 2026, leaving widespread damage to homes, farms, and businesses. Among the hardest-hit sites was Mid America Motorworks, a major Corvette parts supplier and home to the MY Garage Museum, which featured rare and historic vehicles.

Company officials say the campus took a direct hit from the tornado and suffered catastrophic damage.

Mid America Motorworks said in a statement its buildings “sustained catastrophic damage after being in the direct path of a tornado,” with large portions of the facility destroyed.

Michael Yager, president and CEO of the company, described the devastation in stark terms.

“You know I told him everything is gone and he said, ‘clarify what you mean is gone,’” Yager said. “And I said, ‘Dad, everything is gone. The buildings are destroyed, the cars are gone, the inventory is gone… we’re essentially going to have to start from new.’”

Museum, rare cars lost

At the center of the destruction is the MY Garage Museum, which housed a collection built over more than 50 years and widely considered a destination for Corvette enthusiasts across the country.

The museum and surrounding campus have been reduced to debris, with officials indicating that the loss is total.

Founder Mike Yager said in an update that “every building is a total loss,” including the museum, corporate headquarters, warehouses, and even a vintage 1910 gas station on the property.

The storm also appears to have destroyed or severely damaged multiple one-of-a-kind vehicles and historic prototypes.

Among the reported losses are the last C4 Corvette ever built and early C5 prototype cars, which enthusiasts say cannot be replaced.

“This was a museum. This was a place that families came to see cool one-of-a-kind cars,” Elizabeth Yager said. “It’s absolutely devastating. You can’t replace the last C4 Corvette or the Alpha and Beta cars.”

Widespread storm damage

The tornado was part of a severe weather outbreak across the Midwest, with damage reported across multiple counties in Illinois.

In Effingham County alone, officials say at least 30 buildings were destroyed and dozens more damaged.

Emergency management officials reported the tornado traveled roughly 12 to 15 miles, with the most severe damage stretching across rural areas and into parts of Effingham.

Despite the destruction, authorities say there were no fatalities and only a small number of injuries reported.

“Corvette Mecca” erased

Founded in 1974, Mid America Motorworks grew into one of the largest aftermarket parts suppliers for Corvette and Volkswagen enthusiasts in the country.

Beyond its business operations, the Effingham campus became known as a “Corvette Mecca,” hosting events and drawing visitors from across the U.S.

The tree service came by yesterday to give my neighbor an estimate on the damaged tree. I spoke with the tree guy before he talked with the neighbor, as I know the guy from previous work he did on our property.

In speaking with the tree guy, he agreed with me that what's left standing of the old tree needs to come down and he said that he would tell the neighbor this. I don't know what was said between the two of them, I was out of earshot, but I could see them talking, heatedly. The tree guy stormed off in a huff and took off in his truck before I could be nosey...
