Here is the latest weather update for Vermont:

We are looking at warm and sunny weather to start our week. Today features mostly sunny skies overhead as daytime highs for the day climb back into the mid to upper 80's and lower 90's. Dew points remain in the 60's meaning it is feeling rather sticky. Tonight - partly cloudy skies prevail as overnight lows fall back into the 60's and lower 70's. A front will stall out in our region for Tuesday. It will be a muggy day, with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy downpours and potential for a few to have embedded small hail and gusty winds. Highs will be back into the mid and upper 80's and lower 90's

Mid-week requires our attention. We'll be impacted by the remnants of Tropical Storm Beryl. The track remains uncertain, but if we get hit directly, we could receive 2 to 3 inches of rain Wednesday and Thursday. This is additional to the prior wet weather we have seen, and so could lead to scattered flash flooding of small creeks and low-lying areas. The exact track and rain fall amounts are still uncertain and require our vigilance. The best-case scenario is the brunt of it will be shunted to our southern part and east of Vermont, with just scattered showers and maybe a few thunderstorms and rain fall totals less then 1".

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday. However, the weekend looks promising with partly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday and highs in the 80's.

The current temp is 87 degrees, and sunny, hot and humid!

:coffee:....Well another fine day is going to be blessed with lots of rain showers. Calling for off and on all day rain. Currently cloudy sky and 73°F. This is the leftover from the hurricane Beryl.

High today of 76°F with some rain.
Low at 67°F. Rain showers are scheduled.

Indoor projects for the order for today.
Going to try and check out the ceiling fan.

Have yourself a great day. ....

65 degrees today. And rain, rain, rain.

The three garage cats are staying in today. They are watching the weather from their cat tree.

The big story once again is the heat here in Vermont, for our Tuesday. A mixture of sunshine and clouds prevail here through much of the day today (Tuesday 7/9/2024) as daytime highs for the day climb back into the mid 80's and lower 90's. Dew points are still reasonable sticky in the 60's, meaning real feel temps well into the 90's are possible across much the region. There is a chance of a few scattered pop-up showers here and there throughout the afternoon today. We are dry tonight, as overnight lows fall back into the 60's and 70's.

https://vtdigger.org/2024/06/26/vermont-flood-anniversaries-once-brought-revelry-and-relief-this-summer-will-be-different/

The above link is what Happened a YEAR AGO IN VERMONT. A year ago this week, the State of Vermont was DEVASTATED by FLOODING. As we reach the 1-year anniversary of the flooding here in Vermont, (which was July 10th & 11th, 2023) The remnants of Beryl begin to arrive, in the afternoon and evening on Wednesday. There are no official flood watches or warnings at this point, but that may change if everything plays out the way it looks right now.

There will be significant rain fall, with as much as 1.5" to 3.5" expected, especially in our northern and central areas. The possibility of embedded thunderstorms within three heavy rain systems could lead to some locally heavier rainfall amounts-as much as 4" to 5"+ increasing the risk of localized flash flooding.

All of that action will taper off through the second half of Thursday, but it will still remain a bit unsettled, with a chance for a few showers on Friday. River levels will take bit to catch up, some scattered flooding remains possible into the day on Thursday and Friday.

At this point, the weekend looks sunnier, drier, and warmer. There is still the chance of stray passing showers on Sunday. Temps will be climbing once again back into the mid-and upper 80's and possibly some lower 90's.

They are closely watching/and monitoring the potential flooding situation for mid-week.

The current temp is 81 degrees, and partly sunny, & hot, humid. Feels like temp is 85 degrees. Wind 8 mph. WSW 83/73 humidity is 52%. Dew Point: 64 degrees.

...Well, I am sending Prayers for those who may have issues with this rain from the hurricane.
Here in Indiana we have a lot of rain. Some people are dealing with Flooding. Now today we will have strong winds. Currently cloudy sky and windy at 67°F.

High today of 77°F with some wind. (12 to 20 mph)
Low at 61°F. Some possible sunshine in the late afternoon.

Stay Safe and Enjoy your Day. Ryde when you can and be happy. ....

At 9 AM it was 98 degrees here in the desert. Heading for a high of 110+ today. No clouds and a very slight breeze of 5 MPH or less. Humidity is 22 %. This time of year, we get hot water out of both taps. This morning, I measured the water temp. coming out of my "cold water" and it was 104.2! My water heater is getting a good rest. Showers are comfortable just using the cold-water tap. We use aerators in our swimming pool to keep the water from getting too warm. I'll give it a lengthy test this afternoon. Stay safe..... Jim

On the one-year anniversary of the devastating floods of July 10th, 2023, we are going through a serious flashback with another round of flash flooding, rains, and strong thunderstorms, all thanks to the remnants of former Hurricane/Tropical Storm Beryl. The worst for the rainy and stormy weather will be through the evening and overnight hours.

A widespread 2-3" of rain could fall in that time frame, and that is likely to lead to flash flooding problems in many spots. There could be as much as 5" or more locally. It will NOT be as serious as what happened a year ago, as major rivers are not expected to run over their banks. But there could be trouble spots on smaller rivers and streams.

In addition to the flooding rain, strong thunderstorms could produce damaging wind gusts. Some the thunderstorm cells are capable of producing small tornadoes.

The system will be moving away from the area by daybreak on Thursday. There will be just a few, lingering showers and possible thunderstorms scattered about the rest of the day. Mainstream rivers will coming up during the day, but should stay well below flood stage.

Things will settle down for the end of the week and through the weekend, with just a few showers possible on Saturday. But the heat and humidity are going nowhere. It still looks like high temps will be in the upper 80's to near 90 degrees right into next week at least. And the humidity is going nowhere.

The weather team is closely continuing to monitor this dangerous weather situation through the rest of today and night. They will keep us updated with the latest developments.

******* The general public reported water flowing across East Road in Panton, and flooding has caused New York STATE 22 and Route 9N to be closed in WESTPORT. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1.5" inches in 1 hour. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include: In Vermont - Vergennes, Moriah, Crown Point, Westport, Monkton, Monkton Boro, Monkton Bridge, Mt. Philo State Park, Ferrisburg, New Haven, Waltham, Bristol, Ferrissburg, Charlotte, Hinesburg, Starkboro, Kingsland Bay State Park, ST. George, Weybridge, and Panton. *******

They also have issued a Tornado watch until 9 pm this evening for the following areas in New York - Northern New York in Essex County. In Vermont this watch includes 9 counties in Central Vt.

They also have several watches and warnings out.

The current temp is 73 degrees, and we have a heavy thunderstorm in my area. I am on a hill and safe.

Also, here is an update for VT.

They have just activated the Emergency Ops Center and staged Rescue Teams ahead of the storm.

:chat:...Well, first off I would like to send Prayers to the people who are in trouble with the weather.
Rain and flooding issues are dangerous. Listen to the news and stay alert.

Currently cloudy sky and a little windy here at 67°F. Yesterday's rain was just what we needed. It was a slow gentle rain shower in the morning and then it stopped. In the afternoon the rain was heavy at times. Then at 4pm we had sunshine till sunset.
What a beautiful sunset to see here in Indiana.

Today's high should be about 82°F. With a chance of rain this morning.
Low of 65°F and some more rain.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day. ....

We are done with the heavy rain and severe thunderstorms that the remnants of Tropical Storm Beryl hit us with, so the widespread, devastating flooding that we experienced will slowly ease rivers and streams crest and slowly recede.

The last thing we need is even one more drop of rain, but there may be still a few showers through the evening and also during the day on Friday. We may also have some showers and possibly a thunderstorm or two, on Saturday to start the weekend.

Sunday will be the better weekend day with lots of sunshine. But it will be hot, and humid with high temps flirting with the 90 degree mark once again.

It will stay hot & humid into next week, too. Again, there will be some showers, and possible thunderstorms into mid-week. We will finally get some relief for the heat & humidity near the end of next week.

The current temp is 74 degrees and cloudy and not raining.

I am safe and OK.

Back to high 80's today. It is supposed to warm up to the high 90's by Sunday.

We did get about 5 inches of rain from the after effects of Hurricane Beryl.

Let me add that 54 major roads were closed for various reasons... I actually had to drive my RT Spyder about 20 miles during one of the soakers... Mike

Ps: my Non-Marine JBL speakers still work fine... However, my so-called waterproof watch no longer does.

It's supposed be in the low 90s F here Monday and Tuesday, but then rain and thunderstorms for the next two weeks.

So yes, I'm taking my bike out today and probably tomorrow. :D

We had ~3" of rain yesterday in about 2 hours. Tons of wind and lightening. My weather station counted over 1k lightning strikes.

Now for today we have a heat advisory, fun stuff. 95f predicted with the heat index over 110f.

Currently it's 93 here in the desert. Humidity is 33 % and there is a very slight breeze. Today it will be a little cooler than we've had. It'll only get to 105. We are seeing some minimal monsoon action in the evenings. A few rainy and windy periods but nothing major or long lasting. Last night the cloud cover in the distance was lighting up constantly for about an hour and a half. Fun to watch but no storm action made it into the valley. Stay safe..... Jim

Tuesday 7/16/24

:helpsmilie:....We had a hot one yesterday, 92°F and the heat index was 104°F. Yes, the humidity was real problem too. The wife and I did manage to get a few indoor projects finished.

Currently raining here and 70°F. We have a flash flood warning till 5pm. We are in a Safe place.
We already have an inch of rain today. Several puddles in my yard.

High today of only 82°F with all day rain showers. They say we need this rain.
The grass was getting a little bit brown.
Low at 69°F. Possibly some rain showers later.

Enjoy your Day and Stay Dry.
No Ryde Time for me. ....

Here in Vermont, we have another hot, humid day.

We'll get more sunshine going as we head through the rest of the morning and into the early afternoon. That sunshine will help to send temps back into the mild upper 80's and lower 90's again this afternoon. Dew point values in the 60's and 70's also mean another humid, sticky day. As we head towards this evening and tonight, a line of showers and thunderstorms will advance eastward through the region. There is the potential for a few storms to be on the stronger side of things with thunder and lighting and gusty winds and small hail. One thing they will keep an eye on is those heavy downpours, with the ground quite waterlogged in a lot of areas, those heavy downpours may result in some localized flash flooding.

Heading into Wednesday, a cold front may bring a few more showers and thunderstorms. That front will be the leading edge of a cooler, less humid air mass that will settle into the northeast from the end of the week. That area of high pressure will give us a delightful summer weather.

The end of the week and weekend, thanks to the cold front, are set to be a welcome relief from the hot and humid conditions. Temps will drop to more comfortable levels in the upper 70's and low to mid 80' s, with lower dew points ensuring a more pleasant level of humidity. Expect a good amount of sunshine over the weekend!

The current temp is 83 degrees/feels like 85 degrees. Humidity is 62% - UV-high 7 - Dew Point 68 degrees

They have issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in the following areas of New York: Northern New York, Clinton, Essex, Franklin, St. Lawrence.

In Vermont: the 7 counties in Central Vermont; Addison, Orange, Washington. In Northeast Vermont: Chittenden, Grand Isle. In Southern Vermont: Rutland, Windsor.

They have also issued Heat Advisories:

Heat Index values up to 96 expected.

Where - New York, Eastern Essex County, Vermont, Western Addison, Western Chittenden, and Western Rutland Counties

When - Until 8 PM EDT this evening

Impacts - Hot temps and high humidity may cause heat illness.

Everyone stay hydrated and be safe!
