There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I'm on a road trip and currently at Mt Vernon, WA. Temperatures in the 60s and it's been raining or drizzling all day. It's supposed to get dryer by tomorrow. For me, this is a welcome relief from the desert heat that I left in Arizona. I am enjoying revisiting places where I spent my younger years. Stay safe..... Jim

Here in Vermont, we had another round of "historic flooding" in the Northeast Kingdom (near the Canadian Border) and in other places in Vermont last night, one of the towns that is in the Northeast Kingdom was hit very hard by flooding and road washouts. The town got at least 5 inches of rain, and several of the roads were washed out, several houses and businesses were destroyed. Also, in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont one of the trails (which is used year-round for walking, running, biking, & snowmobiling in winter was hit very hard).

***** Would people do a stop-the-rain dance for Vermont - we don't need any more rain. This past month the State of Vermont has seen enough rain, flooding, and wet, etc. *****

After yet another round of historic flooding in the Northeast Kingdom, there is no relief in sight in the future. More showers & thunderstorms with possibly flooding rains continue to come at us over the next few days.

Those showers and thunderstorms during this Tuesday evening will be settling down a bit overnight. But an even more active weather day is on tap for Wednesday, as a frontal system moves through with widespread thunderstorm activity that again could bring locally heavy downpours that could lead to more flooding.

After that frontal system goes by, things will settle down for Wednesday night and into the day on Thursday, although there could still be a few lingering showers.

Friday will be the best bet for having a dry day, but it will be hot & humid. The Heat index - the "feels-like" temps - could be in the upper 90's, which is approaching dangerous heat.

Then we go right back at it again for the weekend, where we could, once again, be looking at flooding rains from thunderstorms that could bring heavy downpours. That will be coming along with a cold front which will finally knock down the temps and humidity as we head into next week.

They have issued flood warnings for Clinton, New York, Franklin New York.

Also, they have issued flood watch for Coos New Hampshire & Grafton New Hampshire from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.

What - Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

Where - Eastern Clinton and Eastern Essex in Northern New York, and all of Northern and Central Vermont.

When - from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.

The current temp is 75 degrees & partly cloudy; the feels-like temp is 75 degrees; Humidity 85%; and Dew point is 70 degrees.

***** Also, would people send prayers for all those who are dealing with the flooding here in Vermont *****

I am not affected by the flooding, I am safe!

Here is the latest weather update for Vermont as of 7/31/2024 @ 5:28 PM EST.

We don't need any more of the rain here in Vermont that mother nature keeps flinging at us.

The last thing we need is more rain, but additional rainfall is possible here throughout our Wednesday, which started with a few lighter passing showers through the morning hours. Still, as we head through the afternoon and evening, scattered heavier showers, downpours, and thunderstorms begin to pop up here and there across the area. Most of the communities will pick up an additional 0.5" to 1.5" of new rain. Where heavier showers and downpours do set in, they could run to 2+". That is why we are concerned about additional flash flooding. A flood watch has been issued for the Northern half of the area, which runs right through the evening hours today.

After that frontal system goes by, things will settle down for Wednesday night and on into Thursday, although there could still be a few lingering showers.

Friday is our best bet for a dry day, but it will be hot and humid. The heat index - "feels like" temp could be in the upper 90's, which is approaching dangerous heat.

Then we go back at it again for the weekend, when we could again see flooding rains from thunderstorms that could bring heavy downpours. That will be coming along with a cold front that will finally knock down the temps and humidity as we head into next week.

**** They have brought in Swift Water Rescue Teams and staged them at various parts of the state. They have activated the National Guard to help in flooding. If people want to see the damage in Vt. check out:
