Happy Monday from the desert. Currently 68 degrees and headed for a high of 72. A (very) few streaky high clouds in sight. Otherwise, beautiful blue, sunny skies. Very modest breeze. Overnight low will be in the mid 40s. Tomorrow it's expected to cool down a bit with the high only getting into the 60s. Then we'll rebound back into the mid-70s for the rest of the week. No rain in the forecast. Stay safe..... Jim

Snow here and a winter storm warning in the Hills. This after getting a good ryde in this weekend. Welcome to South Dakota.

No snow Down Under! (Altho we do almost always see some snow cover hit the ground up in our Snowy Mountains in the week between Christmas & New Year! ;) ) We're heading for a fairly mild day here in the Hills outside Adelaide, South Oz (a long way from the Snoey Mountains! :p ) - just now, it's a bit cloudy to start with, altho the clouds are clearing fairly quickly and we're expecting only 24°C from a mainly sunny day, but the humidity is gonna hit a whopping (for us!) 89%!! :yikes:

The last couple of years, we seem to be getting more of the weather & humidity that would generally be expected in places like Sydney, a fair bit North of where we are; and while we've always tended to get fairly high temps in South Oz, up here in the Hills the humidity is usually a fair bit lower and less punishing than down on the coastal plains... only that's not what we're getting now, and the heat is forecast to start rolling in, hitting 39+°C by the end of the week!!

And just to give you a 'useless snippet of info' - here in Oz this last week saw the whole Country lit up like the proverbial Christmas Tree - over 10,100,000 lightning strikes recorded in just one week!! We scored widespread electrical storms, caused by an influx of tropical moisture and humidity that uncharacteristically spread Southwards from the Tropical North to cover almost the entire Country, except for Tasmania & a small part of the West Coast of WA, a bit not much bigger'n Texas! Yep, that was 10.1 MILLION Lightning strikes recorded!!

Now if only we could harness that power & bottle it for later use?! :spyder:

:chat:...Well folks, I didn't forget about the weather post up. There were some issues with the Forum that kept me from getting on this morning. Glad to see that everything is a go now.

The temperatures are starting to drop off some this week. Currently cloudy sky at 48°F and a little rain.
High today was 52°F.
Low at 37°F.

Sometimes December is a bit crazy here in Indiana. I think it tries to mix everything up and let's us know who's the boss. Just my opinion on this matter.

As always enjoy your Day. ....

Little Blue,

( off topic, I also had problems last night, I tried to go to this website( I typed Spyder lovers.com on the tool bar, I got an error saying to clear cookies, and cache). So I cleared the cookies, cache, I still couldn't get to the website. Tonight 12/9/2024 I didn't have any problems).

Now back to the weather, Here in Vermont, there is a whole bunch of weather action ahead of us this week and none of it is good.

Our first hit of weather action will be the rest of Monday, as a batch of snow comes through during the late afternoon and evening hours. About a trace to 3" inches of snow can be expected in the Champlain Valley, with a little more away from the valley. The snow will taper off overnight, but as temps slowly rise, the snow could end up as a bit of rain shower activity and also some patches of freezing drizzle, The roads will be slick.

As for Tuesday, a stronger storm system will move in Tuesday night into Wednesday. With temps continuing to rise, this system will be bringing us rain, and lots of it. The rain could come down heavy at times, especially later in the day on Wednesday. 1"-2" of rain is possible , and that could lead to some flooding problems. The rain will end up as some snow on Wednesday night as colder air comes barreling in on blustery NW winds.

Things will quite down a bit Thursday, buy it will remain blustery with a few snow showers.

We will get a break from all of this action on Friday and Saturday with a bubble of high pressure over the northeast. But then we will go right back at it again on Sunday and Monday as another frontal system brings another chance for snow and rain showers.

The current temp is 30' with light fog.

:coffee:....Good Morning and Welcome to my local area weather news from Indiana. Currently cloudy sky at 38°F with a lite drizzle of rain. My temperatures are starting to drop so that the rain may be a problem. The wife and I got all of our supplies yesterday. This is the month that we have and keep 'emergency supplies' on hand. Be prepared for anything is the best.

Today's numbers are 43°F and 23°F.
Mostly cloudy sky all day.

Stay Healthy and Enjoy your Day. ...

The current temp in Vermont is 37 degrees & Cloudy.

There is a developing storm system that will rapidly intensify overnight and through the day on Wednesday. What this means for Vermont is lots of rain, heavy enough at times to create flooding problems on some of the rivers and streams, as well as localized street flooding.

Rain showers will start up overnight, and it will be cold enough in our Eastern areas that there could be some pockets of freezing rain.

The rain will ramp up in intensity and coverage throughout the day on Wednesday. As much as 1-3" of rain could come down, area-wide. The rain combined with snow melt from the mild temps could produce those flooding problems as we go through the day.

As the system departs on Wednesday night, the winds will pick up out of the WSW. Colder air will move in on those blustery winds. Wet surfaces will be freezing up overnight into Thursday morning.

Thursday will feature chilly, blustery conditions along with snow showers. Lake effect snow coming off of Lake Ontario will bring bands of heavy snow to Western NY into the Adirondacks.

Then we will get some weather luck just in time for Friday the Thirteenth. And there will still be some sunny breaks as we head into the weekend on Saturday.

By the weekend, heading into next week, the weather will turn unsettled again, with a couple of systems bringing in more chances for rain and snow showers through mid-week.

Another cold spell. Below freezing tonight. Happily, no rain or snow at this time. We are actually having a drought.

:chat:...Well it seems that this season has started some real weather issues. Definitely check out your weather as you travel. Let people know when you can and be Safe. I don't like to take chances when I am going somewhere. Just way to stressful for me.

Currently cloudy sky at 27°F and feels like 20°F. Yesterday was a nice day overall. Today's temperature is going to be a little cooler. Possible chance of evening snow showers.

High today of 34°F. Mostly cloudy.
Low at 12°F.
Whatever you decide to do be prepared for anything. Remember to travel in good Health.

Till next Time. ....

Let it snow ❄️ . Just a little heads-up that Christmas is only 14 days away. Where did the time go? My wife was saying that we are now in the slow stages of our lives.

Anyhow enjoy your 'Season of Winter'.
Remember to Stay Hydrated and Healthy. ....

Check on friends and family.
My chances of having some snow on Christmas is only 50%. That suits me well. ....:coffee:

I'm in Tennessee, and I woke up to this...

So no riding today, but it's supposed to be in the 40s for the next couple of days, and then in the mid-to-upper 50s by Saturday.

Not much change in the weather here in the desert. High today will be 72. There is a very high, thin cloud cover that makes the entire sky look a pale bluish-white. The weather gurus call it a partly cloudy day. But there are no definitive clouds. Bright enough to still need sunglasses and cast good shadows. Stay safe..... Jim

Currently in Vermont the temp is 39° and it is raining hard.

The heavy downpours of December rain will continue in the evening hours of this Wednesday and then end up as some snow tonight. There will be little snow accumulation in my area, but there could be a couple of inches worth outside the Champlain Valley, especially up towards the Northeast Kingdom (near the Canadian Border), and in the higher elevations.

The snow showers will taper off by Thursday morning and there will be some clearing showers. But it will be turning blustery, and colder as the winds pick up out of the WSW. There could be some icy spots on the main roads and walkways for the Thursday morning commute. The wind should not be damaging, but there could be some scattered power outages. And there will still be a few scattered snow showers, mainly in the higher elevations.

The wind will settle down on Thursday night. Friday the 13th is looking " lucky" with partly sunny skies. And it will stay that way into the weekend. But there will be more clouds mixing in on Sunday.

As for next week, we will be getting back into another unsettled weather pattern with a chance of rain showers and/or snow showers each day, Monday through Wednesday.

(Off topic, for those of you who ride your Spyders year around, put some miles on for me please, because my Spyder is in hibernation until April. I hope to be riding my snowmobile as soon as we get some snow that stays on the ground, the snowmobile trails open up, are groomed, and the gates are opened).

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Stay healthy and safe!

:gaah: Well, we have overcast sky at 13°F this morning. Also, the wind chill is -2°F. I think 'Ole Man Winter' is very upset. :roflblack: :roflblack:

We have a little bit of snow on the grass but nothing on the driveway. That works for me.
The drive to work today is going to be a little slow due to the weather. I am retired and sitting in my warm home. My outdoor projects are done, and most things are working.

Today is going to be very cold at 22°F for the high. Low of 16°F. Maybe we'll get some snow showers this evening.

I received the heating gas bill yesterday and it looks terrible. Gas prices are way too high. I hope they can get a price that's more affordable. A friend with electric heating is really hard pressed to pay his bills.

Season's Greetings to All.

.

Snowing now. Supposed to snow all day. More storms due for the weekend.
Been using pellet stoves for close to 30 years. Pellet prices are up but it's still a reasonable $900 for the heating season.( usually 5 months.)

Interesting thought....... My summer cooling bill is just about the same as Lew Ls' winter heating bill. My winter heating bill is about $300 total for the year. So my annual heating/cooling costs about $1,200. Guess it doesn't matter where we live..... Hot summers, cold winters...... It all evens out.

:coffee:...Well yesterday's weather was not very friendly. I have about one inch of snow on the ground this morning. The snow is pretty to look at for now.

Currently cloudy sky at 18°F but it feels like 9°F. No rain or snow issues here. The roads are still mostly clear for us.

High today of 32°F and mostly cloudy sky.
Low at 21°F.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day. ....
