There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. You heard it here first- BRP Owners Event 2012

Been there many times. My dad grew up in Aztec and my sister lived in Durango until a few years back. Have probably toured that area on Goldwings a half-dozen times, but haven't been there since about '04. Hope to make it!

I have a decision to make do we go to Durango Co or Cuba MO. We can't do both being we still work and have a limited vacation time. Let see which would we have more fun at BRP or Cowtown. Sorry BRP Cowtown wins hands down.

We have a scheduled trip to DC in June that makes the chances to go to Durango a little hard. Like Johnny said, we have decided to do Cuba, but unless I can squeeze some time off into it, I might join you, Lamont, on your way to Colorado. I'll have to see when BRP announces the dates...

Oh man... Already have R.O.T. nailed down for June 7 - 10th. Missed it last year.

Rode through Durango on the way back home. Beautiful town, wonderful roads. Would love to go back up.

Praying that BRP in their infinite wisdom will schedule The Owner's Event for the later part of June, so I can attend.

I've been to the 4-corners area but seem to have missed Durango. I'll be there for sure (God willing, of course) this time. It's prolly a 3-day ride, each way, for us Ohio folks.

3 days? It only took 2 1/2 days for us to go from East Tennessee to Califonia! A nice leasurely ride as I remember.

Woohoo!!!!!

I haven't been around here much lately, but you can tell from where I live that I'm gonna be there!

I'm hoping it's not the weekend after Memorial Day (June 1-4), because I have a little m/c event of my own that weekend that will take up all my time and energy. Although I would definitely have to break loose from that for awhile and come out to meet all you folks! No matter which weekend it is, I hope to see a whole bunch of y'all!

:ohyea:

Oh, and btw, the parking lot to meet in is at the Durango Mall. Walmart parking lot is always too full for such a meetup. Durango Mall is bigger overall, and usually at least 2/3 empty. :D

Plus? I know all the best places to eat in the area. ;) I'll try not to be such a stranger between now and then, and may be able to help with some of the planning. PM me, or post here, and I'll make a point of checking in at least every couple of days.

BRP: please take note

Please consider setting up a three or four year plan/rotation in areas of the country. Knowing that far ahead will allow planning on all sides; BRP, vendors, and attendees. We know the dates of bikeweeks and Sturgis years in advance. At least stablize which weekend in June for vaction planning.

Just my two cents...

Yep, I am tied up with the Gilmore Vintage Motorcycle Show the second Sunday in June. That is also a weekend when many schools around here hold their graduations...and many schools are still in session until mid-June. I, too, am hoping for a later weekend in June.

I think all that hustle and bustle was what made Lamont sick. :joke:
Not sure what it was but the day we drove from OK to Flagstaff I wanted to quit at every fuel stop. nojoke

I wound up feeling better around 900 miles into the trip and had my first meal in two days at that time. We wound up doing close to 1200 miles that day. I did learn one thing, you can push yourself further when you ride with folks than without. it was a great run and I'm looking forward to another one just like it (without the feeling sick part). :doorag:

Hmm...looks like a great place to celebrate our anniversary! The three of us are penciled in. :) Must start looking for a good campground!

My wife and I have been itching to go on a long trip..We live close to St. louis..This is app 1,100 miles...We have never gone over about 275 miles in one day...What is a reasonable distance to travel in one day?...I know there are some epic trips that have been made here, but I am talking realistic for a 58 yr old to travel in one day...How many miles are others planning to travel in one day?..Thanks!

Looking for Campground

We are starting to look for a Campground also, It is nice when we have a big group in one Campground. We are starting the year with Spyderfest at the Ladybug Campground, then to the Owners Event, and then to Spyders in the Redwoods, and if we hear about a good stop we will try to make that also, maybe Sturgis.

This looks like a great summer on the road again, this might be a 15 or 20 week trip this year.

Don't let DocRags know what I'm thinking she might make me stay at home.

We have been on two lengthy tours. Once on separate machines, and last year riding two(or I should say 3, including our pooch Kiddo)up,dragging a small tent camper. Last year we maxed out at a bit over 400 miles in a day. That was more than enough for us, and we are in the same age group as you. We usually go around 100 miles, then stop, gas up, let Kiddo run around for abit, eat a snack, and head out again. So usually our stops are around a half hour. So: 400 miles= around 7-8 hours plus 1.5 hours for gas ups, etc. It takes (us) around 10 hours max for us to travel 400 miles.

This trip to Durango, we have 3 scheduled overnight stops in 1300 miles. Way less than 400 a day. :)

We refuse to be hurried..takes the fun out real quick. nojoke

:) Brad

If we make this trip, I'm hoping to hookup with others and ride as many as the group rides.

The distance that you can travel in a day...especially day after day, varies from person to person. You can do more miles on the Interstate in a day than on the two-lane. For many people 300 miles a day is plenty. At an average of 50 mph, and with a few stops, that is a full day. For others, 1,000 or more is a day...but that is the Iron Butt crowd. I can take 500-600 a day, but Nancy prefers a bit less. We plan to do the 1,500 miles to Colorado in three days, but those plans may change. If you haven't done a very long stretch before, I would either plan on no more than 350-400 a day, or leave your plans real loose, and test the waters as you go along.

2019 miles

I WOULD LIKE TO GO IT IS ABOUT 2000 MILES . ABOUT 4.50 TO 5 DAYS. I WILL TURN 71YEARS YOUNG JUNE 3rd . I AM WORKING ON THE WIFE. IT IS EASIER TO APOLOGIZE THAN TO ASK PERMISSION. IT ONLY TOOK ME 48 YEARS TO REALIZE THAT :D:D:D

Its 1975 miles for me. The wife doesn't go so I will want to push it a bit to get there in three days to cut the time away from home down to manageable level (i.e. less complaining)
