There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New DPS unit installed today.......No doubt about it, it is a different animal from the original. My original, I had no problems with.....never missed a beat.I would describe my previous agressive corner carving feeling as ,wheels anchored on a rail, both above and below the rail ,similar to the way roller coaster cars are actually anchored. With the new DPS you just dont get that nailed in place, sweeping on a rail feeling.Overall I like the new steering feel, but it does stand out with a different touch when you are sweeping corners at 45 mph and upward.I put about 80 miles on the unit today and really put it through the ringer of a work out......Again I like it.....steering is real sweet.....just DIFFERENT!

New DPS

I picked my RT up yesterday. My DPS was also replaced. 150 mile trip home & I have to say - I could not tell the difference. It was raining the entire way home. I also hit DFW rush hour traffice. Long - slow ryde home. I hope to be able to get out this weekend to see if there is a difference.

Just had mine done and my experience is the same as yours. I have to say the dealership I go to is great [Star Island, Prescott Valley] I had extra harnesses they had to disconnect, not a problem. I also went over all my mods with them to have some other minor things done and they were real receptive, worked with me and no bitches about warranty. This is the way all dealerships should be.

DPS

I took mine in today at noon. will be picking it up tomorrow at noon. Looking forward to new DPS. Have heard good reports. The old one was hard to turn when stopped are almost stopped. My wife will be learning to drive and more power at slow speeds will be great. Will report back after I give it a try.

I don't know, Maybe it's just me, But i put about 700 miles on my new DPS, The steering isn't quicker i find it Under steers so you have stay with it more in the turns.
It's hard for me to explaine, I have to keep constant pressure on the bars
on sweeping turns. Before with the old DPS it would turn in quicker with a lighter grip.:dontknow:

Since I, only going to get in rides every 10-14 days this winter (Weather willing) I will wait till April and see how things go with others.
I like the steering just the way it is.

Got my new DPS installed today. Road coming back home is a somewhat twisty road.

The touch is much lighter. Before, had to put some grunt into a fast swerve. Now, poof! She swerved!

I think because of the lighter touch, you have to be on your toes more than before. Any input will have a reaction.

Also now know why my back burned so bad after doing hard twisties for seven hours. May take the same route again someday and I bet my back will feel much better!

Awesome Difference

OMG got the DPS recall fix...I never felt that before was an issue..yea, I would describe it as really touchy or loosey/goosey...but hey put 6000 miles on that way and just enjoyed...well let me tell you the new DPS is like a major positive change...no more touchy hard to describe..but my 4 hr. ryde back from the dealer (by the way Roundy's in Spokane is awesome) was so . Then I had them complete my lite mods so now I have flashing brite sides front and back...front lower lites...mud flaps...3rd brake lite all from ESIC ...the dealer said it is the first time they have installed...they were very impressed with the product, instructions and result. Then they put on the harness for my Gebring heated gear....now that was like soooo wonderful as I rode back in 42' weather and not even a chill!!!! Wahoo and then the last mod they put on my RT was the helmet "holders" I got from ISCI...again super quality.
But you know what is most important to me...I am such a novice on this Spyder...so I asked you great spyderlovers everything I have you recommended and they are all GREAT recommends...Heck I'm feeling reallly smug about my mods and new lingo...wahoo :yikes: watch this great grannie is a rockin' and a rollin' her Spyder all decked out for the holidays with the new lites, etc. :2thumbs:

Had an appointment this morning for my DPS replacement @ 9am. 50 miles away.
Looked out and there is about an inch of the white stuff on the grass, :yikes:. temp. was around 28, made me call the dealer and reschedule to Tuesday next week. Can't wait for the new DPS from what I have read so far.

Got my new DPS last Friday.... lovin' it so far. High-speed turns are so much more stable. Looking forward to some real tests in the coming weeks.

I like the new recall model DPS better than the 2 I had before it.
It does seem to give more assist but it is no more twitchy than earlier units, maybe a little less. Overall a big improvement I think.

I have ridden about 200 miles since the DPS recall. Feels the same as before for me. But, the steering was never an issue before, either. So... not sure what I'm missing.
