Would adding a Ramp extension reduce the scraping?

My trailer has a short ramp(32 in.) and my spyder wants to scrape loading and unloading. Would welding another 2 feet on the ramp make any real difference?

That would work ..... I would use 2 inch angle iron .... bolt, then weld them to the end ... you will need six pieces, .... measure then place where the THREE tires will go .... add some 1/2 plywood between the rails, to support the tires .... OR just carry three six foot length's of 2 X 8's ..... if using 2 X 8's make sue they can't SLIDE ..... good luck .... Mike :thumbup:

Ramp extensions that fold can be made that end up supporting the original road end of the ramp when folded out doubling the ramp length but still folding down out of the way when trailering.

Maybe just a couple of short pieces of 2x4 under the end of the ramp? Don't forget about the rear wheel if you do that. It will need a little help too.

Yeah, that should work. My handicap scooter was hanging up on the ramp, when the anti-flip-over wheels on the back, hit the ramp of the hitch carrier. I bolted some hinges and about 2 feet of 2x6 on each ramp, then put a support leg under the original end of the ramp to keep it up about 3.5 inches higher than it was originally. No more problems and never had the wheelie runners catch again. Just a little extension was all it needed. The hinges lets the extension fold, and works fine.
