• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Won't start

Wonder if anyone can help me out. I have had my Spyder on a trickle charger since Thanksgiving. I tried to start it tonight and it has all kinds of juice, but when I hit the starter it won't start and I hear a faint click at the front right side area. I did try to start it the first time before I unhooked the trickle charger but don't think that matters... Maybe the solonoid is not working..??

I would check your battery connections. I know a guy that just had his towed and it turned out to be a loose cable.

Like said before first check the battery cables, If there tight then,
How old is the battery? I ask because sometimes a bad battery will show a full charge, then when you hit the starter it will lose the charge.
The clicking noise most likely is coming from the starter, The solenoid is in the rear next to the battery.

Many times the starter will click like that when there's not enough juice to turn it over. You may have "cooked" the battery by over charging it. It's better to use a battery tenderrather than a trickle charger. At this point, I think that you need a new battery.
Good luck. ;)

I am away for the winter and left my RT home for the winter on a battery maintainer:coffee:. What Tupperware do I need to remove on an RT to check the battery terminals?

Thanks

None. Just raise the seat on the RT. You'll see then toward the back.

I use a battery tender and accidentally tried to start it while the tender was still plugged in. I knew better, but forgot. I popped a fuse, in the front fusebox. I THINK F3 (not sure without looking). You might do a little checking to see if all fuses are intact.

Those are not the battery terminals, they are the jump starting terminals. The get to the actually battery terminals, you need to remove the battery access panel under the seat...which requires removing some additional components.
