• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wondering how many owners do not know this is possible?

Good one. This is right up there with "you don't have to wait for the safety message to appear before hitting mode and starting your bike"!

I've been using this feature since my first RT in 2012. Thanks for informing all.
And another tidbit for some:
If you want to leave your radio, lights, etc. on or don't want to wait for your ride to go through its loading procedure and are only stopping for a short time just hit the kill switch. All electric stays on. Start up by turning the kill switch off and hitting the start button.

Wow, 10 years of owning a Spyder. Didn't know this. Tom :spyder:

Hehehe, that is pretty long time :) but we learn something new every day :)

I have known about this since our first Spyder in 2013. I have taken it for granted that every owner knew this, but last year, after jump starting an RS and while waiting for her to follow me to my place so I could do an oil change for her, I heard her shut her Spyder off. Turns out she needed something out of the frunk and didn't know about pushing the key down while turning it to open the lid.
I showed her how to do that and keep it running. Of course, I then had to jump start her Spyder again.
Now I ask after jump starting a Spyder if the owner knows this.

Excellent tip Martin! Four years owning a Spyder RT and did not know this. Been a few times I had to access the frunk while the bike was already running.

Owned my RT for 3 years and never knew this. Might come in handy someday, such as when shutting off the engine might strand me if the bike would not start right up again. But up until now, for the few times that I wanted something in the frunk while the bike was running, it was not a big deal to turn off the engine, open the frunk and then re-start the bike. Watching the video made me think that there well might be more little tricks that I am unaware of.
