• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Winter Storage and Pesky Critters

I live in a rural part of Maryland. My RT has it's own house (a shed with wooden floors). I'm concerned about storing the bike when it's too cold to ride. I am also concerned about field mice that may try and make the shed their home for the winter. As you know, once they're in there they will eat almost anything in their path. Anyone have any ideas about how to protect the Spyder (tires, cover, wires, etc) from these pesky critters.

I don't have electricity in the shed yet but I'm working on it.

Help!!!!!!!!!

A spyder with a cover and mothballs in and around the beast will keep them at bay. Any mothball odor will dissipate with the very first ryde of the new season.

Works well with boats, RV's, jetskis. Pretty much anything you'd cover over the winter out of the elements

I liberally put out rat bait packets in the garages and shed. I have had no problems from mice since I started that.

:agree:Mothballs, don't want to use poison, I don't want to kill anything just want to keep them away.

:agree: With the rat bait over the mothballs, but if you are able to wire up the shed, invest in a good ultrasonic pest repeller--it's the best of both worlds.

I would think one of these would keep all of the mice away.

When we had snowmobile and stored them in the summer I put steel wool in the end of the exhaust pipe. Mice hate steel wool and the exhaust pipe could still breath avoiding collecting condensation. I put moth balls in and around the motor too.
