• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Test drove a RT today. The middle class model with the auto tranny. That baby will hump it down the road in short order! Purty fast. Steering requires some getting use to but has much better steering than a unraked motor trike. Most of the riding was on city streets and the machine was getting close to the hot mark (90+ degrees outside today). Been any overheating problems with these machines.

welcome :spyder2: runs with-in spec . A lot of people will say it runs hot because of the bars that indicate the heat but realy no hotter then any other motorcycle. That being said because of all the plastic over the motor it does tend to hold a lot of heat under the plastic panels .

There are rumors that BRP will, sometime in the future, bring the temp bars more into line with a proper perception.

In other words, you get a lot of bars on the current gauge making it appear to be overheating. Having the tupperware get hot when you're sitting still adds to the misconception as well.

6 bars is still within operating range and even 7 bars is not really an issue. It is more a matter of calibration and the false perception that is created than it is an actual problem.

welcome

I can't think of any reports of a RT overheating. Unless you had a bad fan relay it should not overheat.

Never mind the RT over heating, when my wife found out I was checking out the RT she started to over heat. :dontknow: Guess I need to take her out to the garage and change her thermostat. :gaah::helpsmilie:

Best of luck with that thermostat adjustment. It may be easier to take her along for the next test ryde you go on, as that has fixed many "issues" for others. :D

Hey! If that works we'd all appreciate a "How To" post on the ShopTalk board! :D

I live near Tampa, FL and it's HOT. I've never had a problem with the RT overheating, but I don't do a lot of stop-and-go, generally cruising country roads. I believe Fred Rau has a video where he took his RT out into the desert and tried to get it to overheat but it never did.
