There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Why don't they waive??

Can't confirm the part about riding with Sharon on the back, but I'd agree almost 100% with the rest of what you said. ;)

Also, my theory is that sometimes it matters not so much on what you are riding, but what you are wearing to ride. I've noticed that I get more waives from riders who are dressed in essentially the same type of "gear" that I am riding in - which is neither armored "ATGATT" riding gear, or a leather vest and a dew rag, but rather a full face helmet and what I like to call "sensible every-day clothes for riding". Not that I really care about it. But it is an interesting observation.

Interesting. On my Yamahas, I'm in full race leathers and boots, ff helmet, and gloves like I'm going to a track day. On the Spyder, it's a touring jacket and pants, gloves, ff helmet, and boots. I do the ATGATT. It didn't occur to me thst I'm getting judged. If someone is offended by safe gear, I can't do much about that.

I give a wave to most everyone on a bike or a trike. No matter what they ride--- it's that they ryde.

Always give the tap to the helmet if there is a speed trap ( a very often occurance on Mt Rose Hwy to catch the speeding skiers comming off the mountain).

Jen----- if they don't wave back--- just ryde on.

PS: Warning---- Sarcasim elert:
Can you just imagine all the waving at Sturgis or Street Vibations:yikes:
Waving during a rally doesn't usually happen. Just too many bikes especially here in Nevada. Almost as many bikes as cars some days!

Waving isn't a social thing. It's supposed to mean that there isn't any hazard ahead. What irks me is that riders don't tap their helmets to warn of a cop ahead, but wave instead.

I agree that different areas wave more, some less. Just depends where you are.

What I've found out is you wave at a motorcycle LEO, they'll wave back. At least in my neck of the woods.

True confession time... It was a cold and cross-windy day, didn't bring cold weather gear. We had a days ride ahead of us. Was sniffing gas fumes once and a while from the broken gas cap. I'm sorry for all the riders that waved at us, I probably waved too late for you to see me.

Sometimes crap happens and you're not very social. Hope they got over it...

HouseDress?

I actually saw a trike yesterday with a woman who looked like she was wearing a house dress (grandma style, not a diss, I adored my Nana), reading a book on the back.

I've been found out! Riding in my Kelvar grandma-style housedress. I have cruise control so I can read while I ryde. It was a real good book.

Yeah, you're right. I wasn't being critical in any way. Just making and observation. I agree it's a bit odd that some riders don't waive at folks dressed significantly different than them. I generally waive at most riders, and don't care if they waive back or not. If it's a "Harley type", I just give 'em a head nod, and generally do get one back.

I Nod my Head If they are waving? Sport Bikes wave more because they Probably ride Snow Mobiles? F the Harleys with No Gloves or Helmet cause their "Cool?"nojoke

OK so I made this video TODAY just because of this post... Really I did...

I wear a GoPro every day to record my commute so if something happens to me, it's not the word of a dead man against a driver. My family will know...

So because I do that every day, and because I saw this post 2 days ago... I took my video OF TODAY and made a wave video :)

It's to show you that waving is a state of mind and maybe a cultural area thing?

With that said... I get more waves than really I want! Maybe it's a California thing!

Video commentary I posted on YouTube with this video:

So I see all kinds of people complain after getting a Spyder that regular 2 wheelers won't wave anymore.... BULL****...

I get more waves by giving waves than back when I was on 2 wheels!

Instigate the wave rather than expecting it! If you don't get one back... well then ride on! Don't make this a "thing" to worry about. Live life and forget being "waved at"... Seriously... Grow up a little instead of expecting others to respect you... YOU are above that ****!

95% of the time they ALWAYS wave here in California... But I instigate it as you see in my video...
Maybe some of you are doing it wrong ;)

Finally I have a message at the end of this video. We need to STOP people from driving and being on cell phones! It is killing people everyday and a lot of them are Motorcyclists! STOP the stupid ****!

Maybe they WAIVED their right to WAVE! ;)

AJ

I normally ride a sport bike. Before this I had a Harley. While riding the sport bike, I might not get a waive from the hard core bikers, but most still waive.

Yesterday was a nice day with lots of bikes out. I waive to everyone. If I had to estimate, maybe 10-20% waived back. My husband was on a cruiser. I asked him and nearly all waived to him. Really?!!

On my ride to NY to PA, the first bikes I came across were a pair of sport bike riders. They waved.

Since I'm used to most bikers waiving, I found this a bit disconcerting. I mean , I'll live, but why the hate?!?

What has been your experience?

OK everyone staying at the BW for Spyderfest there will be a Happy Hour wave in front of the Hotel Friday night on the street starting at 5 PM or after the first drink. This will last for 15 minutes and is meant to benefit everyone who felt left out in the wave department. You will continue around the block for the full fifteen minutes and we will all wave at you for the entire fifteen minutes.

Cruzr Joe will direct the crowd and Bob Denman will count the number of waves. Any left over waves will be put in the bank to be held by Bob, Hermetically sealed, and distributed at next years Spyderfest. Be there or be Square!

A Waive that Suprized me and i had a Chuckel

I was going home the other day when I was going thru a Left handed curve, there was a Sport Bike coming the other direction, Me being Me I Waived, Here's the funny Part , He lifted both arms in the air and Waived Back, It was so dang funny, I laughed , cause I didn't expect that, so you never know what is going to happen on the road, One thing I've noticed thou if your on the side of the road, weather you need help or not , A biker will slow down or stop to give a fellow biker a Hand, So Ride on and Waive!!!!

I try to wave at everyone. Even people on their riding lawn mowers. Some wave. Some don't. I even get the big, "You're number one sign" some times. The bright side is that I know I'm being acknowledged and that I am Number One:firstplace:.
