• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Who here has or uses a Leatherman or equivalent?

I know this is really old thread. But I just ran across it. I have one of the original Leatherman that was issued to me back in probably 1983 or so. It has been with me almost every day since. I also have an older Gerber. I'd sooner leave my wallet at home than my multi tool.

My immediate thought on seeing that but was "Back when I spent a lot of time really remote or otherwise avoiding people, I often did just that!!" :thumbup:

But thinking a little more about that response, there is maybe juuust a slight possibility that leaving my wallet at home was on purpose... :opps: :rolleyes: ;)

OLD Leatherman in the truck; Gerber in the Spyder (used it on a friend's tire recently pulling a nail out).

I've got a 26 year old Super Tool...
But I don't try to use a blade as a prybar...:banghead::banghead::banghead::roflblack:

Reminds me of the old Navy story about a young seaman down in the bowels of the ship who says, "Chief, hand me a 16" crescent wrench." The Chief replies, "There's nothing down there that requires a 16" crescent wrench." To which the seaman replies, "I know. I'm going to use it for a hammer."

Have carried several different Leatherman multi tools over the past 20+ years. Use mine multiple times daily for all kinds of different things. Broken knife tips or screwdriver tips is usually why I have to upgrade. But I use them for more than what they were designed for! :banghead: Would be lost without one ..
