There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Who doesn't have a garage

gkamer

Sadly passed away, December '23.
How many Spyder riders here don't have a garage to store your ride in? And how/what do you do to protect it? Is a cover a good alternative?

Mine goes into winter storage at the local Honda dealership. That way my truck can go into the garage over winter.:doorag:

years ago my wife and I made a deal. The newest vehicle goes in the garage. For a while my 2011 RS S was the newest. Then I went and bought her a 2015 Fusion for her birthday. The spyder had to go.
So, I bought a "bike barn". The Spyder fits very well indeed. I hope it holds up to a bit of snow.

Fortunately I do have a garage. But if I didn't, I would probably go with a bike barn (like stated above) if I was short on space. If I had as much as 1/4 acre lot of more, I would do something like a 8x10 garage, or maybe even purchase an enclosed trailer to use as storage and emergency transport.

I have a single car garage outfitted as a workshop and large tool storage
(vehicle jacks, ramps, table saw, laithe etc)

It was fine for my 2 wheel sport tourer, but the spyder is too wide to fit in the space available

I currently cover it with a Nelson Rigg half cover sitting in my driveway in front of the garage door.

I'm looking for a solution to take it out of the heat, cold, & rain.

Will look into a "Bike Barn" <thanx>

I use the outdoor storage cover from BRP. It's a great cover and fits perfectly. They had to throw that in when I bought my Spyder, then dad made them do the same thing for his RT.

Storing the Sypyder

I have a 2 car garage fitted as a work shop and STORAGE area.
The wife's Prius has garage space priority in the center of the garage.
The Spyder will sit on 3 furniture moving dollies so it can be jockeyed sideways
for positioning across the front of the garage.
My SUV has to tuff it out in the driveway.:ohyea:

I do not have a garage so I rented a storage unit to keep it in thru the winter. I will use a full cover and the drive way during the summer.

Nice and warm, and hibernating from the cold and snow. Only daylight it sees is when the garage door opens. Very nice, but ENVY, the southern rider that ride almost all year long. We are done here till probably April 2016 when the snow melts and probably even longer depending on when the roads get cleaned from the sandblast material ( sand and traction grit ), nasty stuff.

I keep my rt in a metal shed, which has a six foot wide roll up door, with my other power tools and a work bench. The spyder is covered with the BRP full cover. No electric power tho, so I depend on natural light and flashlites.

This winter we parked the bikes at my cousin's place about an hour away. We have a three car garage at home, about 1200q ft, but I have some projects to do this winter, and I didn't want them to get damaged. Next year I am going to build a 12'x12' extension on the back of the garage to store our bikes in next winter. I miss having them around, so that I can do farkling over the winter.

Storage¿ ha :roflblack::roflblack:year round rider here fyi:thumbup: I can always layer up to get warm (&safer for it) cant do :cus: To cool off. Rain sux, cold rain really sux. But not as bad as not riding :p, granted temps not freezing this far south. My trips are on hold but I still find reasons to ride daily. :doorag:

No garage and i use to rent a storage unit for my Wing. But decided a few years ago to buy a 7x10 enclosed trailer.Save on sorage fee.s plus if needed i can trailer my spyder or help out a fellow rider if needed.
Bill

I built this. It is 9' x 12'. Lots of room for the Spyder and has shelves, etc for the stuff I seem to accumulate to go with the bike,

Because I live in Manhattan I have no garage and no desire to park it on the street. Garage rental space in this area is far too expensive so I park it in storage just across the river in New Jersey. There is no power in this storage (though it is kept at a decent temperature) so I cannot put it on a trickle charger. I wouldn't want to anyway. I like driving in the cold weather and simply avoid active snow or ice. I use a scooter (Suzuki Burgman 400) and zip across the river to get to my Spyder. Has worked with other bikes I have kept there and trust it will again this winter. If there's a Spyder there's a way!

SPYDER BARN

We have some pretty bad winters here In the Buckeye state, so even though we have a two car attached garage on the house we have a car and PU truck we need to keep Inside In the winter, so I got a 10/12 barn to keep the:f_spider: In, It works out great..

BRP's Outdoor full cover is pretty good...
But you'll want something that'll keep the snow and ice off of it... nojoke
Lots of good suggestions:
Storage at a Dealer
Storage Units
Quick to assemble ToolSheds
Even storing it in Another State!
But the key is to get a good roof over top of it, and lock it up, for it's long Winter Nap...
