• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which upgrade would you do first ?

I have a 22 F3t and a few bucks to spend. Which should I do first ?

A. replace the front Kendas with Quatracs
B. Install a Baja Ron Swaybar and links
c. Install Centramatic balancers.

The Kenda tires have only about 2500 miles on them, I feel a slight vibration in the floorboards, pressures are exactly the same.
I really would like a more grounded feeling turning corners fast.

Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated

thanks johnv

Forget the Centramatics ... take the front wheels (the rear doesn't need to be balanced) to any car shop and get them spin balanced .... Let the Kenda's wear out - the fronts aren't that bad, it's the rear that will wear out fairly quickly. Get a RIKEN Raptor HR for $80.00 at tire rack ..... The SWAY-BAR will make a noticeable difference .... JMHO >>> Mike

Tires.
While your choice of tire is not one I would consider, but quality tires are likely the single best upgrade and reasonable low cost compared to the other two you mentioned.

Tires, tires, tires.

Not on your list, next, should be a laser alignment by a very qualified person / shop.

I have Centramatics on our RTS. I have the equipment and ability to dynamic balance my own fronts. Mine were balanced to the “fine” setting of 1/10 oz max error. That was excellent as is. The Centramatics were like chocolate sprinkles on a well equipped sundae. Not needed but really sweet.

Squared Away Laser Alignment. Possibly the best thing I ever did. Ann showed me one side was 2 1/2" out of alignment. Followed up later with Ron's sway bar.

The first thing I would do is have your ride height checked and if necessary adjust the spring preload on the front shocks so that the front end is at the right height with you, passenger and cargo on the bike. If you are below the ride height spec you will notice an improvement in straight line and cornering. You can do this yourself with the help of a neighbor or friend. The spec. is 16 17/32" between the top and bottom shock bolts on the front shock. Enjoy the ride.

IMHO Sway Bar & all 3 tires as 1st upgrade for better handling. 2nd is laser alignment. 3rd is Shocks. A good tire won't need the Centramatics.

Sway bar 100%. You will notice the biggest difference with that upgrade

Disagree 110%. Install high performance tires, and properly aligned is far superior than a swaybar swap.

Oem Kenda tires, even at the recommended pressures are flimsy. Push the fronts and you can feel them trying to tuck under the rim in corners.

You don't say what king of riding you do and how much experience you have on your Spyder(s). That said, plus the fact, at least on SpyderLovers, that the most common nickname for Kenda tires is Crapendas, and you do not say if your 2022 F3-T was laser aligned by a technician who knew what he was doing as part of the OTD deal. If the latter IS the case, the most important task has been completed. If your rear tire has as many miles on it as the fronts, you may have as little as 4K more miles left on the rear before you will probably have to replace it, and your two best options are a Quatrac or General Altimax. Next step is to find a quality automotive tire shop or Spyder dealer who can accurately balance the front tires. If the fronts cannot be accurately balanced, replace them with Quatracs. Forget the Centramatics. Lastly, if you ride aggressively and the Spyder has been properly laser aligned, get an anti-swaybar from Bajaron, and then the tires under the conditions mentioned above. Good luck and Semper Fi!

thanks for all your suggestions. After speaking with Ron from BajaRons I have decided to go with a new sway bar.

thanks again johnv

If anyone can set you on the right path, it’s Ron, Johnv. You know that even though he primarily sells his own swaybars, he won’t be recommending them if they won’t address a particular rider’s issues
