• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinks out loud
Clarification.

While this post was intended to poll what modifications had been done to control radiator heat venting. It appears even tho the poll questions are radiator heat specific. A few have interpreted it to be heat in general. Just to be clear. Heat coming from the engine(non radiator), or exhaust system is a completely different conversation.

Thanks for your participation.

2008 RS: Missing Air Dam, Missing Heat Shield and Air Management System.

Both blocked with redirected bottom flow, holes in swoop, hole in bottom, wrapped exhaust, cat heat shields, air deflectors. Next thing that needs to go is the Cat (no more kitty litter):D

How about a "None" category?

i don't have any heat mods and don't plan on any.
I'm Jealous :o

Lower block off plate and holes in the swoop, but may have an additional idea! I know... scary :D

Definitely hotter 2 up, than solo...makes sense, due to engine load.

Kinda get the feeling folks are tired of the subject or there would have been more responses since the initial time of the post. Maybe they are out riding and enjoying the cooler weather, before having to mothball the Spyder for the winter!

Would have also been nice to include the graph in this post, so there would be a visual count. Some of us need pictures...

Was that an option? :dontknow:

My first poll and will admit to having struggled a bit to accomplish what you see. nojoke

Wasn't difficult - just new to me.

Another "none" here, unless you count the good pair of boots on my feet. Heck, my only farkles have been a $7 cup holder and the jumper change. Gas and Go baby!

The jealousy part? Maybe it should have been, because some are riding, instead of trying to solve puzzles.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like a criticism. I need more coffee, before posting! :(

:agree:

I too am a 'None-er'. But then I spent 33 years in the fire service too!

Actually I have to amend this post as I have put the exhaust wrap on my pipes (not a listed poll item) and have also removed the splash pan (also not a poll item).

So far it looks like the 'None's have it!

Totally agree with you. The Spyder is a motorcycle with a combustion engine...it WILL get hot. Mods may help a little, but what's a few degrees? The Spyder was designed as it is after much R&D.

None I really haven't had an issue. When it was 105 out, I had heat issues, but not spyder related. SOMETIMES my right foot is hotter than normal, but moving the foot back a tad took care of it.

On the 2010 RTS, lower block off and cat shields. On the '12 RTS, nothing. Seems the heat isn't as bad on the '12. No problems with warranty work either. But then the only warranty work lately was on the '10. Had to have the suspension compressor replaced. Heat on the '10 never has gone above mid way on the analog gauge even in the high heat we had this summer, with the blocker.

Took a while for me to understand what you had posted.

My post asked 'was that an O p t i o n' - think you read it as if I had written a question referencing an opinion :dontknow:
