• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where did you get your "Handle"?

DRAGN

Dragons (Asian) are good and wise. European Dragons eat villagers and burn s--t
I am attempting to emulate the Asian variety in my dotage.:)

kaos

trying to add a pix of "kaos" He is our 6 year old Great Dane---we have had a few of these lovable little dogs. He is one of the smaller ones at 145 pounds. Thought I would him as my handle, I usually just use my first name ( Lew ) on the other forums. ( V-Max and Valkyrie )

I was at a large conference in Chicago after a late evening of entertainment. The gift basket in my room had a pair of RayBan sunglasses, which I wore to the morning meeting. The Blues Brothers was a popular film at the time, and everybody started calling me Elwood.

pathfinderjoe

Before the advent of the hand held GPS I bow hunted with a buddy whom had a terrible sense of direction and I'd tell him he probably couldn't find true north even with the aid of a compass. Normally all we had was a compass and a Forest Service map and by the end of the day he would be totally confused. Eventually he needed to ask me which way was camp and started sarcastically calling me pathfinderjoe.

Being a musician I was very heavily influenced by The Beatles.
Paul McCartney being my favorite. Macca was the nickname John Lennon gave him.

Love my job

HVACR. Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration. I was 12 years old when I first installed a compressor on a refrigerator for my father. I'd been going on jobs with him for years already and have been doing it ever since. 40 years and still love my job. He's been doing it for 55 years and we'll talk about work for hours to this day. He always told me choose a job that you like and can make a living cause that's where you spend most of your time. My son is 22 and went on his first job at 6 months old. I was supposed to be babysitting and had a factory down so I handed him to the customer while I sorted out the problem. He now is 3rd generation HVACR guy by his own choice. 1st job is firefighter and HVACR on the side.

I ride a SPYDER so...I'd be "5 legs short" of a SPIDER ! All I could come up with at the time when joining the forum.:sour:

I wanted to bump this topic to the top. I find it very interesting how people got their handle.

Rawhide kid

Grew up the youngest of six on a Montana cattle ranch near billings. We used CBs in the winter, so we all had handles. Ranch is called rawhide ranch- we still have it in the family. I'm current president of the ranch corporation.

Anyway. My dad was "boss rawhide" , mom was "mama rawhide", and one older brother who is a doctor is of course "doc rawhide." I, of course, being the youngest, got the handle "rawhide kid."

And there you are. I miss Montana a lot, especially the mountains. We get up there about every other year. Took wife and our four kids to glacier last summer. Stayed on the ranch a few days.

We Moved to AZ to go to grad school in 1997 and never left. Jobs and the in-laws moving here have solidified our stay. We go camping and hiking to get out of the heat. I'll go biking more now. Can't wait to get my farkles mostly done and do a nice day or two trip somewhere.

Think ill ill do a trip to Montana in a couple of years.

Thats all.

My Handle

When I was active duty Air Force I used to have to Thump on quite a few folks in order to get my mission done and take care of my people. Now that I am retired, it's the sound I make when I tip over if I don't have my forearm crutches or Wheelchair :yikes:

In grade school I hung out with the neighbor girl, Katie. My older brother decided to tease me by calling me Elmo Lucy Katie Lover. He still calls me Elmo Lucy from time to time. I named my truck Elmo and my Spyder Lucy.

Dumb stunt

About the age of nineteen several of the guys were playing with a small brass cannon. We ran out of fuses so I charged the gun and poured black powder back some distance and lite it. As my face was over the fuse port when it exploded it really messed up my face. I turned to look at my buddy's and Rodney said "Kennard your hurt." It stuck, three days in the hospital, plastic surgery and now at 65 ugly as ever and the guys call me Kennard.nojoke
