• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where did you get your "Handle"?

While in the Navy, the other sailors didn't want to use (or couldn't pronounce) my last name so they shortened it to Freeze. Hard to find that name free now, so added initials; FreezeFM

After returning to riding, after a 20 year hiatus, I bought a Purple Honda Shadow

OK, I'll join the fun, as I just signed up.

Datsa Noydb is a name I have used for years on forums and anyplace that I needed to provide an e-mail address to sign up for a temporary membership. Will probably be looking for a Spyder soon, so this membership might not be so temporary.

Anyway, I had seen the acronym "Noydb" quite some time ago, it stands for "None Of Your Damn Business". I decided to add a bit of "Italian" flair to it with "Datsa". ;)

In my "former life", I was a U.S. Army UH-1H flight engineer or "crew chief". I served with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) out of Ft. Campbell, KY supporting Task Force 3/327th in the Sinai. We were the U.S. contingent serving alongside many nations in the MFO - Multinational Force and Observers, a.k.a. "Sinai Peacekeepers". Our aviation unit provided support and reconnaissance to the infantry units sent there.

"Peacekeeper6" was the call sign of our commanding officer who flew my Huey (a '72 model that served in the 'Nam) many times. He was one of those commanders who got respect without really asking for it; his chest full of awards and medals, coupled with being an aviator and a former member of the Special Forces in Vietnam, got noticed. His leadership style was the right blend of authority and compassion. All of his subordinates enjoyed serving under his command.

And being 40-something and in GREAT shape (at the time), he could outrun A LOT of 18-year old "punks".

Anyway, I've always admired him and never forgot his cool call sign.

i buy 4 wheelers and fix them up to re-sell as a hobby and a little extra money, my name is bill and the kawasaki bayou 250 is my all time favorite 4 wheeler to work on and sell, i have bought and sold and fixed or re-built about 30 of them since retiring, along with a slew of everything else.

Somehow I missed this thread over the years. I work for Banks and Credit Unions. I work on all kinds of Bank equipment, Vaults, locks, tube systems, alarms, video equipment, atms,etc.., so Safecracker was it. Bruce

I was pulled over for speeding by a Texas State Trooper and still had the paper license plates on my Ryker. He checked my license, insurance and let me ride off with a warning....”Sir, I couldn’t find a listing in our system for a 2019 Deathtrap so I guess you can leave- Please be careful- Thank you for your service.”

First time seeing this thread too. Back in my younger days I used to play drums. Found myself a nice limited edition Ludwig set, and it was number 12 of 45 in the world.

For many years on the site I was AKspyderman. Lived there and had a spyder or two.

Spring of 2019, we moved to Arkansas.

Lot's of Spyders here so did not want to offend by calling myself spyderman again.

Went with ARtraveler. We are traveling the state a lot and it is also the title of a popular Bluegrass song. It all fell together and has stuck.

It may be an old thread but it is still a fun one and a few of those old timers are still here. Adds a little leavening to the forum.

Sometimes the old thing is better than the new thing. The Times have changed a lot quicker and you know the 'rest of the story'.

Slow down and enjoy your Life. ....

I was at a Goldwing convention years ago. They had a talent show and this guy with fishnet stockings and a female outfit came prancing down the aisle and hugging some guys. Well he got to where I was seated and was coming to give me a hug and I Jumped over several people to get out of its way. So after that my name was changed to Leaping Leon. End of story. lol

:agree: Me too, from an old timer.

So you don't have to look, I have had two handles since becoming a Spyder owner. AKSpyderman, when I became the first customer in Alaska to own a new Spyder. From 2010 - 2019. Then I moved to Arkansas. I became the ARtraveler. Still into bluegrass pickin and the title is a well known bluegrass song. And...I have traveled AR quite a bit since our move there in 2019.
