When will we get the Home Page Banners back?

When do we get the sponsor banners back on the home page and the link that works. Only typed heading are now showing and they do not open the link.

If you have an Ad blocker, turn it off... that worked for me. Once turned off all the banners came back and worked. I am using Firefox and AdBlocker Ultimate.

Yep Chrome here WITH AdBlock Plus, but I've allowed Ads on SL and everything shows and works on mine.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I find that Google Chrome does work. However, I don't usually use it and I think the site should work with all browsers. If this keeps up, we will be changing browsers depending on what web site we are trying to get to on.

If something doesn't work it should be reported. How else will Anthony know what to fix?

They aren’t broke in any browser.

I’d suggest you set the settings back to default for the browser you claim isn’t working for you & try it again.

AdBlocker Plus works good in FireFox! I turned it off for SL and I see the ads again! It never used to block the SL ads. Anthony, what changed that ads started to get blocked, SL web page code or AB+?

The site uses a new ad program, the old program isnt supported & hasnt been for years, once i updated php, it finally broke.

Some ads are called by an async js & some are called via simple href linked banner

To answer why adblocker now blocks them, you would need to ask them, ive never used an adblocker in 20 yrs of IT

I wish there were a better answer than ads and adblockers. I know that ad revenue is what keeps many (most?) web sites alive and functioning, but they can also be such a terrific nuisance and impediment to browsing I would rather skip the web site than put up with the hassle of viewing the site around the ads. That's why I use an ad blocker. There are sites I turn it off because the site won't load everything otherwise, and the site is worth the bother to me to view. Banner ads such as SL has on the home page are not obnoxious, and valuable to have, IMO.

Yea advertising spammers are a pita to deal with on a lot of sites, there is really no way to deal with them either with out the blockers if you truly want to visit a site that abuses it.
