• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Whats with the Flashing Lights?

Ok Need to know why people in a hurry expect you to move out of there way and start flashing there lights behind you. Like " Get out of my Way Im in a Hurry" then drive as close as they can behind you..Cars or Bikes.

I wasn't in the left lane either. Usually go 8 over the posted limit but seems not to be fast enough around here.

Truckers are the worst. Its either some are driving way to slow and others are driving like they own the road.

Sorry but last nights drive home from work pissed me off and after seeing the Post on the Chicago crash got me going again..

Here, it does not happen very often. I would give way in such a situation. Let the road rager go their merry way and get them away from you.

I proscribe to the philosophy that Lemmy over on RevZilla's blog holds to.
"To avoid 'road rage' I stop on the side of the road (in a safe place)
and eat a couple of gummy bears."

Having someone ride up your tail, flash their lights and then get even closer to make their point (especially when there isn't anything you can do about it) can really get your blood boiling. But it sounds like the Chicago accident was the Spyder's fault as according to the preliminary reports, the Spyder rear ended the SUV. Still, I feel sorry for everyone involved.

I agree with not anything I can do about it but it is getting worse out there.. Come on a bit of respect out there!

Not sure about the Spyder accident as it did happen in my area.

Even tried the Zen thing.. Its getting worse out there not that summer is coming up look out..Indy 500 time..

I am very ready and willing to flash my lights behind any stupid sumbich who hogs the passing land and is matching the speed of the driver to his right or barely moving past. Once the overtake is accomplished, get th' 'ell over!

I also like the "Gummy Bear" method of dealing with it.

Agree...

If it were not for the risk envolved now-a-days....I would put out my sticker " I may be slow but I'm ahead of you"....:roflblack::roflblack:

Gummy bears
Maybe I'll eat a whole package before each ride
That way I won't have to stop :roflblack::roflblack:

Seriously, if they are in that much of a hurry that they want/need to flash their lights at you - whatever the reason is, why not just pull over & let them pass?? It gets them off your butt, it's a helluva lot better for your blood pressure, & when it all boils down to it, what've you lost by letting some idiot (or maybe someone racing to a hospital or a house fire?) pass you??

If they're in such a hurry that they feel that hafta flash you & tailgate to get you out of their way, it's probably going to be for some reason that might mean something to them, but probably won't make too much sense to anyone else - whatever, it's gonna be their funeral, so why not just let them by & certainly don't slow down, or piss them off enough to make it yours too!! If you try to block them or even just keep them behind you, chances are that you'll come off second best if it comes to any vehicle to vehicle impact, so why not just let 'em by!! Don't let them spoil your ride, or the rest of your life !!

Ride more, worry less!! And just get out of the way of tailgating pass-light flashing idjuts!!
:2thumbs:

If your in the left lane dragging ass down the highway, you really need to move over. Its common courtesy, don't make it personal.
People who play speed police are far more dangerous and bigger a-holes than those that want to move along at a more brisk pace.

If I was in the extreme left lane then yes I would move over..I was in the middle with Friday night traffic. Car and trucks to the left and right of me.
What do I do press the jump button and leap over traffic..

The mentality is I am in a hurry move out my way I don't care if I kill someone is ridiculous !

I drive 120 miles a day and everyday is a new adventure on the roads.

Some days are perfect other days its the indy 500

I also witnessed a trucker pass on the shoulder because he was ready to rear end a driver going 10 mph in the right lane. This was at night time..:yikes:

Flashing Lights

The problem is you have no idea of the following vehicles motives. It could be a medical emergency, a family emergency, a Doctor trying to get to the hospital, a LEO responding with no lights or sirens in an unmarked car to a home invasion at your home. Just get out of the way. Saves everyone a lot of stress, and costs you NOTHING.

Yesterday, I was in the right lane and approaching the semi in front of me, but a car was coming up on the left, so I waited. She overtook the semi but didn't pull right. I flashed my brights, and eventually she acted like she'd pull right, but another car was more impatient than me and was already passing us in the right lane. The car in front of me finally pulled over and as I passed her I saw she was on her cell-phone! So I wagged my finger at her as I passed. :lecturef_smilie:

I think your the kind of person the OP is talking about. What the hell is the rush and what's wrong with the

Speed Limit! I think it's called "Bully Driving". I guess courtesy and respect are long gone-right?

:agree: If someone needs to be in that much of a hurry; they should have planned for it, and left fifteen minutes earlier. :D
BTW Jack: it was GREAT to finally meet you in person.
 You're much taller than I imagined... :roflblack:
