• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's the polarity of the Spare wire in the frunk?

2014 RTS. There is a spare set of wires beside the battery, brown with strip and a black wire, which would be positive, and which is negative? I'm running from there to a USB outlet in the blank switch location. I'm not much good at reading wiring diagrams.

I'm 99.999% sure the BLACK is negative ..... Mike

Have you tried checking while its running?

Multi meters are inexpensive.

A simple test light would show a positive.
Basically a bulb/lamp and 2 wires.

or a Circuit Tester 2.5-32V Bidirectional Voltage Tester

Unfortunatley there doesn't seem to be any power at those wires.

That connector is for the optional frunk power outlet. Black is ground. Check the fuse in F6 & F7. If it's in F6 you have power from the key. If it's in F7 you have power from the battery. Put the fuse in whichever spot you want for keyed or constant power.

I figured so. I have it all figured out now, had to add a fuse in the spot that said not used. Powers on when key is on. Thanks everyone for the help.

Is this correct? On my 2014 LTD these fuses controlled the 12 V outlet in the trunk. From the LTD and ST manuals: When fuse 6 is installed, 12V power outlet is only operational when ignition switch is at ON position. When fuse 7 is installed, 12V power outlet is always operational.

From the S manual: When fuse 6 is installed, DC plug is only operational when ignition switch is at ON position. When fuse 7 is installed, DC plug is always operational.

All of the manuals quoted and what IMS posted are saying the same .

Both power outlets are on the same fuse.
