What's best for Cleaning the Windshield? Anyone use Pledge?

I do the towel soaked in hot soapy water. I really works great and only takes a couple of minutes. I may try the 50/50 Peroxide though for some of the lower areas where a towel may not hold.

Please note that polishing a windshield with a machine or any abrasive polish (like Novus #2 or #3) will remove the hard outer coating and make the shield more susceptible to scratching in the future.

Bug Slick is the best because it cleans and next time the bugs come of easy you can get it online or at most motorcycle shop. You can use it on the bike too.

There are several good windshield care products on the market today.

One of my favorite ones is Clear View made by Slipstreamer. It is basically a good grade of spray wax. You spray it on the w/s and wipe it off with a CLEAN SOFT towel. I put my UNCLEAN towel in the washing machine when my spouse washes our car truck drying towels which weekly of late.

Another is the before mentioned Honda product for cleaning, shining and quicky paint wax jobs. It works great and has many uses.

Both products last a long time my can of Slipstream is 18 months in service and feels like it is better then half full. The Honda wax fills like it is full.

Your local air port or marine dealer would be another local resource for information if your cycle dealer is not.

I have read that some members use 50% Hydrogen Peroxide mix to clean the windshield.

Can you also use it on the painted areas? Will it dissolve the wax from the painted surface?

I use the same technique of flooding the windshield with water to remove most of any grit, and then wet clean towels to soak off the bugs. Then when the windshield is pretty clean, use S100 or ShowTime waterless motorcycle cleaner with a clean microfiber cloth. The ShowTime completes the cleaning and leaves a thin protective coating which also covers up the minor scratches, too. It is a good product to use on the "tupperware", too. I use it on my helmet visor, too.

I use a an automotive glass cleaner that is safe for Lexan & window tinting film. Cannot use ammonia based cleaners windex. I use a clean microfiber cloth to wipe the windshield

I wouldn't use any product with alcohol or ammonia. Plain water is probably the best. Some people use hydrogen peroxide for the buggs. I use Windex Multipurpose with Vinegar successfully on all my windshields. Some swear by Pledge or similar products, but they leave a sheen for me that causes raibows when viewed with polarized glasses. Non-abrasive products made for plastics or aircraft windshields, such as Plexus, work well. I like the one Cee Bailey markets.

I keep a micro fiber cloth and a spray can of Plexus Plastic Cleaner in the rear cargo trunk all the time, Quick wipe after each ride keeps the windshield and the entire front end nice and clean.

I use Honda Spray Polish on everything on the Spyder including windshield. Similar to Plexis and cheaper.
