• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What iPhone phone app do you use to plan & track your trips?

I found these issues with Rever, you don't have the same issues?

"I tried Rever, but if I got even a little off route, it never actually recalculated even though it shows "recalculating" on screen, but just dinged at me the whole time until I got back on its pre established route. I also did not see a pause feature on its tracking. And it froze up a couple of times, so i had multiple routes tracked and the end of the trip that I could not figure out how to merge."
I use Rever on my computer for route planning, then export to my Garmin XT. The Garmin has a button on the right to skip a waypoint. Very handy when you may have passed a waypoint, or want to pass one without stopping at said waypoint. I love Rever for route planning and most rides. I am just now learning Rever for Carplay. I think it is very limited currently in features on Carplay.

My iPhone, which I dislike intensely, stays in the trunk and is paired to my Zumo 590 that has an integral phone app that I do not use when rolling even if the Secretary of Defense (the bride) calls. I preferred to tackle the BaseCamp learning curve and use it for planning all my routes.

I use my dashmounted phone for GPS and tracking. (Which has the drawback of overheating and dimming the past couple of weeks, but the voice guidance in my helmet works, so I'm ok with that for now.)

I've tried MyRoute-app, and it would route me through parking lots, dirt lanes, etc. But it did a great job of tracking a multi-day trip, and I could just pause and restart tracking when I wanted.

I tried Rever, but if I got even a little off route, it never actually recalculated even though it shows "recalculating" on screen, but just dinged at me the whole time until I got back on it's pre established route. So right now, I'm planning on using my go-to's of Google and Waze for route guidance, and MRA for recording in the background.

What do you all do?
I use inRoute for planning and Navigation. It's IOS only and works well with Carplay.

We are iPhone users. I use good old Rand McNally for the trip overview. When it gets down to routing, I usually use Google Maps and pick waypoints to keep me on my intended route (I do this on our laptop ahead of time - easier to see and visualize the route). I write down the waypoints, and when we are using Google Maps on the trip, I enter the waypoints as we go from destination to destination. Sounds like more work than it is, and I enjoy it. I make sure to have my offline maps downloaded in hopes that our travels take us away from cell phone signals. I route the maps through a Carupride mounted to the handlebar riser, so I can send it through the bike speakers when we wear our 1/2 helmets.

All that said, We have been known to chuck the days plan out the window and follow BajaRon's advice and get lost for the day.

I've been using Scenic app for about 4 years now. Happy with the app and its functionality. Also use Waze running in the background during rides to have a better shot of knowing where the speed traps are.

I use MyRoute-App on my phone for day trips and Garmin Basecamp with a Garmin XP for the more complex stuff for both tracking and route planning. Agree MyRoute-App is not as good at routing as the Garmin but I've found it pretty much on parr with the other phone based apps I've tried. They have now expanded the avoidance settings which have improved things.

Rally organisers here like people to also have a Spotwalla account for tracking and I use the free app on my phone called SWTracker to send regular updates to this. It's handy because you can also create your own journey records and create links to these so friends and family can track you live. My partner finds this comforting when I'm doing an ironbutt/checkpoint rally as she can check my progress and know I'm safe.

I use Scenic. More than half of our club also use it so we can trade trips. I tried most of them and for my purposes it was the best.
