• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What I Did To Make My 2009 Spyder RS SM-5 The Ultimate In Performance

Quit starting trouble Ron [emoji1]

Isn't that what we're all here for?? :roflblack:

That thing looks SERIOUSLY scary! :yikes:

Can you get us some pictures of this Aprilia-powered Spyder??
That one has to havd some pretty sharp fangs! :yikes: :spyder2:
I will see what I can do. The owner is not really fond of this forum. Other than seeing the Aprilia gauges it looks the same as any other silver/black RS

The V twin Aprilia Tuono and RSV use the same engine as the Spyder, with different setups on the tuning, and a 6th gear instead of reverse. The European market has kits for these engines, like a 1200cc stroker, and a big bore kit. Old saying, "Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?"

YUP. It pretty much bolts right in. Most work is done routing wires and mounting up the electronics. Most difficult work is in getting the gauges to look "nice".
He had it as a 6 speed with no reverse to begin with, but the output shaft is shorter and it took some custom work to mount the front pulley. Also, 6th was pretty pointless for this setup.

However, he has it torn apart right now and working on swapping the 5 spd. gears with reverse into the Aprilia case. Longer output shaft, reverse, and what looks like it may be more favorable gearing.

The saying I live by is :
  • FAST
  • CHEAP
  • RELIABLE
Pick any two of the above. You can't have all three

Now what could he possibly have against this forum? Everyone here is extremely nice, cordial, easy going, friendly, helpful, kind, (should I stop?)....

Performance Mods on My 2011 RS

-Hindle exhaust
-Kewl metal air intake
-Ram air hosing from fog inlets to Kewl metai air filter inlet
-Power commander with auto tune
-Baja Ron - plugs and wires
-Baja Ron - sway bar
-Pitbull shock relocators
-ELka front shocks
-Laser alignment
- Belt tensioner
-Spyderpops undercarrige cover
-Kuhmo front tires / Falken rear tire

Last thing will be Turbo set up. However my two wheel 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure with 131HP at the rear tire keeps me satisfied for down right scary speed.

I have basically the same mods. The greatest improvement I found was replacing the Hindel with Supertrap universal automotive muffler with 18 discs. Improvement in the mid range was the best I ever saw in all the mufflers I have tried on all the bikes I have had.

Do you have a specifc part number or picture for the Supertrapp? I went to their site and I see the pipes for Vtwin.

SuperTrapp #443-2217 MSRP $279 2.25inch inlet. #443-2517 MSRP $279 2.5inch inlet. I used the elbow from my Hindel, it is 2.25. I think the original pipe elbow is 2.5. I used 18 discs, Juice Box Pro, and Kewlmetal air cleaner. The muffler is in the Automotive/Universal section. Best muffler I ever used.

OP...what did you find regarding your mpg when you went from stock to the JT air filter and PCV? I've been debating if I want to go this route for some time now. I do want more power. I don't necessarily want to give up my decel backfiring which I actually love and I also don't want to really give away mpg's. Life's a tradeoff though so I may end up doint it anyway.
